The BEST frosting for cutouts! I have my mother's cutout cookie recipe but was not able to find her recipe for frosting and this one tastes identical to hers! Thanks for posting!

This is the best frosting for sugar cookies. Like someone else said it is hard enoght to stack the cookies but still soft on the inside and it is so yummy. I have gotten so many requests for this recipe. I didn't change a thing, I made it just as the recipe states.

This frosting is absolutely incredible. Everyone is asking me for the recipe! It's soft on the inside but hard enough to stack on the outside. And sweet, but not toooo sweet. I made it with pecan shortbreads.

Great recipe, and makes a lot of icing.lovely texture and sets quickly. I halved the recipe and I still had enough for small flower decorations on 6 dozen cookie press shortbread cookies.

I always change it up a little bit until it's the texture I want. It's always a little crystal-y, but works in a way where everybody's satisfied.

Great frosting! Butter always tastes better than crisco! But it is softer, and melts easier. Something to consider if transporting.

So easy and delicious. I mixed this up and then put some in smaller bowls to add different food colorings to. I gave the kids at my daughter's party craft sticks to spread the frosting with and they decorated cookies. What a hit!

I have been looking for a recipe like this! This is THE BEST frosting I've ever made! It would just roll out and press onto the sugar cookies. Another reason I liked it, was because it HARDENED.

Lately I've discovered presidents choice organic cake mixes. (In Canada you can buy them at Superstore for the same price as regular box mixes) The ingredient list is everything you have in your kitchen, no preservatives and no chemicals. Needless to say I've been cake baking up a storm. This icing would be bland without extract. It tasted like butter. I added hazelnut extract and it was amazing. Thanks!

This is pretty much your standard buttercream frosting for cookies, and it decorated well and dried hard, but not too hard. Nice consistency.

Best frosting ever. My fam loved the frosting. We loved it so much that after I frosted all the cookies I had made we ate the frosting plain! To add a personal touch I added some English toffe flavoring which made it even better. Rember to mix well or turns out a little to thick.
