I was trying to find a recipe that would be close to what my BIL used to make as my husband raves about it and this (according to him) came pretty close. I used a the chili seasoning II mix recipe from this site for the seasoning part, used half hamburger and half ground turkey, ended up adding a can of chili beans and a can of mushrooms and was pleasantly surprised with the outcome. A keeper!

This is fabulous chili. I will never use a different recipe. I used Pace picante sauce as suggested by the writer but I couldn't find Williams Chili mix so I used Lawrys.

mmm...yum, this was so good. I think this was the best chili I've ever had, and I'm not usually a fan of chili.

Great recipe! I'm a complete novice when it comes to cooking and this recipe was super easy to make. And, not only was it easy, it has a great taste to it. Really hit the spot. Thanks for helping this single guy find a great, easy recipe.

Fantastic recipe! Husband loved it as well. Used one package Williams original seasoning, 8 oz. pace piquante sauce medium flavor, can of garbanzos and can of black beans. Did use one can Rotel with chilies and an extra can of tomato sauce. Freezes perfectly. Definitely fast, easy and a keeper!

I thought this was very good, my husband thought it was fantastic. I did add 1/2 a green pepper and only used 2 Tbsp of Chili powder. I used 2-19oz cans of kidney beans, but pureed one of them as my daughter really doesn't like beans so I find this is a good way to hide them. I let it simmer for 2 1/2 hours. Just before serving I added 1 Tbsp white wine vinegar to enhance the flavor of the beef. Will definately make this again.

I was a little hesitant to use jarred salsa but I really think it's what elevated this chili from good to great. I added some veggies at the beginning (bell peppers and onions) and stirred in bittersweet chocolate and minced garlic about thirty minutes before I served it. I also left the lid off the slow cooker for the last hour to let it really thicken up. Mine was almost too spicy (I used Hot Salsa and made my own chili seasoning from a recipe on this site: Chili Seasoning Mix II. I should have tested the ancho & chipotle powders I was using because they were super spicy. I tempered the heat with a few scoops of peanut butter...doesn't change the flavor a bit and actually gave the chili a nicer body) Best chili I've ever made.

This is the best chili we've ever had..even better than Tim Horton's! I added fresh garlic, celery, red & green pepper to the meat as it was browning along with the garlic salt & 1tbs of the chili powder. I then put the meat in the crock pot with 1 28oz & 1 15oz can dark red kidney beans and the rest of the recipe and added a can of chopped tomatoes. cooked on high for 1 hr then low for a few hours. Served with Favorite Corn Bread..mmmm delicious

Recipe was delicious as is. Will take the place of my slow cooker recipe. Didn't seem spicy at first, but did as we continued to eat. Used 3 tbsp med/hot chili powder (Penzey's).

I used ground turkey and minced garlic instead of powder and it turned out really good! It was for a Superbowl party and we made chili cheese fries. I baked the frozen crinkle cut fries and used the cheese sauce in the jar that's mixed with salsa and sour cream on the side...yum! It was so easy too.
