Good chili!!! The hubby still rates James Coney Island Chili as the very best, though!!!

I didnt think it was spicy enough, but it was a great recipe for the kids they ate it with taco shells. They didn't even notice the beans!

Mmmmmm!!! This really was fantastic and flavorful. I used 3 T. of the Chili Seasoning Mix II recipe from this site instead of store bought. My only change was adding a can of diced tomatoes with chilis.

Delicious chili! I did change a few things to go with what I had - cut it in half as well. Instead of garlic salt added a finely chopped garlic clove, and instead of adding 1/2 and 1/2 for beans, I just used a can of light red. Probably added twice as much salsa as is called for, and a bit more of the chili seasoning too. I like it spicy, and boyfriend doesn't so I added some Red Hot to my bowl as well :) This came out great, will definitely be a new staple! Leftovers were great for chili dogs the next day!

I didnt have enough meat but i used half a pound of beef and half a pound of turkey and added extra garlic and a few spoon fulls of brown sugar to tone down the tomato sauce and it turned out great! thank you for the great recipe!

Great, made for a potluck and got many compliments. Used Lawry's chili seasoning since we couldn't find Williams, (as Deb noted in her review) and Med. Pace Picante. Next time will probably add fresh garlic. Great over a baked potato!!

Great recipe! Cold and raining, so I didn't feel like stopping at the store on my way home from work just for some chili seasoning. Searched the internet and found a perfect recipe for some. I had everything else in my pantry. Used 93/3 ground beef so didn't need to drain any fat. Added a roasted jalapeno and some fresh garlic; other than that, followed the recipe. I found it a little salty so added a little water. Thickened it at the end with some masa harina...GREAT!

You're not going to believe this, but I made this recipe for a church chili contest and won 1st Place with it the first time I made it. I made very minor modifications, I used one can of Pinto Beans substituting the can of Red Kidney Beans and managed the use of the tomato sauce during the simmering to get the consitency I like. I enjoyed this Great Recipe and so did our church and I have the blue ribbon to prove it!!!!!

This was very good and easy to make. Think I'll try it with chili beans instead of kidney beans next time. But this gave me a few lunches after and just tasted better each time I ate it.

This recipe was great. We didn't have any ground beef so we used flank steak (yummy!). We also added a can of green chilis, chili beans and ranch-style beans. Everyone really loved it. We are planning to make it again this week! Thanks so much!

The best and easy , easy , easy !! I used abour 3 pounds of Ground beef because it was all frozen together. Drained and rinsed the beans and used a whole large jar of salsa ( because of the extra meat ). I also used the whole packet of seasoning mix- about 5 or so tbsp instead of 4. We like things a bit on the spicy side :). Simmered for one hour and served with icy cold sour cream , grated cheddar cheese ,diced avacado with a squeeze of lime and crispy nacho chips on the side. Tonight , chili dogs !!!! Thanks Debdoozie !

I have made this once a week for about the last 6 weeks! Only change is I add a whole jar (16oz) of salsa and a large jar of tomato sauce. I've already shared this with several friends! Thanks so much for sharing it.
