These were delicious, the only change I made was to use onion chive cream cheese in place of the plain.

These are great to make ahead for big dinners, or to put directly on the table. The cream cheese adds a lot. Thanks!

I added more butter because why not? I cooked them right after preparing them so I'm not sure if that changed the flavor but they were so good. I left the skins on the potatoes too - didn't seem to hurt them any. Will definately make again.

Good bye boring mashed potatoes. This recipe is wonderful. I add some feta cheese to give it an extra zing. This recipe is a great year round side dish and a must have during the holidays.

This recipe is a staple at Easter & Thanksgiving! I love that I can make it a day or 2 ahead & just stick in the microwave to reheat & it's just as creamy as when it was first made.

My guests LOVED this! It was so easy since it was made the day before. I ended up keeping it in my oven for almost an hour, but I think it's because my oven isn't so good.

My mother-in-law recommended this recipe. I made this in the crock pot. I prepared it in the morning, and put it in the crock pot for the afternoon. I added quite a bit of shredded cheese. Next time I'm going to add velvetta and milk.

With a full time job, mashed potatoes from scratch were reserved for the weekends. With the find of this recipe, I can stop buying the instant. I subbed some of the onion powder for garlic to spice things up a little, but otherwise stuck to the recipe as written. Thank you so much for sharing!

I followed the recipe exactly. Next time I would use less potato or more liquid. The end product was a bit too firm. Also, I was expecting more flavor but they tasted no different than my usual: boil, mash, milk, butter, S&P.

I used 5 pounds of red potatoes, left the skin on, and adjusted everything accordingly. Per other reviewers, I used chive cream cheese and it was a great flavor. Most people enjoyed these. But I found them to be a bit pasty. The consistency was different.

Excellent...and you don't need to make the day before! Those of you who said your potatoes weren't creamy probably used big bakers. I agree that the recipe should specify what kind of potato or the approximate poundage. I used 9 red potatoes (about 2 lbs.)and the recipe came out very creamy. Red potatoes have a wonderful texture and mash very easily. They're also about half the size of an Idaho. Don't bother peeling the potatoes--it's unnecessary labor, and the skins provide color and nutrients. I increased the amount of salt and pepper a bit, and only used 3 oz. of cream cheese. Otherwise, excellent. My very southern husband loved them.

These were really dry, although the flavor seemed okay. I will try this receipe again with smaller potatoes.
