"A holiday tradition. My mother made these date balls every year at Christmas time. They may be stored in a plastic or glass container. If the weather is warm, keep them in the refrigerator. Make sure balls are cooled thoroughly before storing."

1 (8 ounce) package
chopped pitted dates
crispy rice cereal
confectioners' sugar, or as needed
My husband said they tasted exactly like the cookies his grandmother made when he was a little boy. :)
After struggling to form balls from the resulting mixture, I found other recipes that scaled the ingredients differently. Reduce the crispy rice cereal to only one cup, and you should have very good results. With three cups of the cereal, you will have difficulty forming balls that hold together.
