This was so far the best stroganoff recipe I've used on this website. Not an authentic since authentic is done on the stove top.

With a few small tweaks, this was excellent! I used beef stew meat (same amount). I used sauteed baby bellas instead of canned mushrooms. I didn't have any white wine, so I used cooking sherry instead. I only used 2/3 of the 16 oz. container of sour cream - and I chose light instead of regular. It was so delicious - my husband is a picky eater and he loved it. Even ate the mushrooms!

Amazing...used leftover cheapy steak and it was so tender after cooking in that crockpot all day!!! I even used light sour cream.

Was better the 2nd day... would consider braising the beef next time first because the meat tasted bland even in the sauce. Would make again. Added lots of fresh mushrooms about 1 hour before eating.

My husband LOVED this meal....he loves stroganoff and I don't so I surprised him with this. I used beef stew meat, fresh mushrooms (added just a couple of hours before serving), red wine instead of white, 8oz of sour cream and 4 oz. of cream cheese. I served it over homemade egg noodles and was surprised that even I like it! The only thing I'll do a little differently next time is cut back a little on the cream cheese (2 - 3 oz rather than 4).

Excellent and inspiring recipe! I made this for Christmas Eve, and it was a big hit. I always read reviews, and play with recipes...mostly so I can use what I have on hand. I know I used Stew Beef, a can of Beef Broth, didn't have any wine. Think I used 1/2 sour cream and 1/2 cream cheese, but Christmas Eve was so long ago! Thanks for a great recipe!

Very good! The sauce is very flavorful and rich. I found a very large top round in my basement freezer from last summer, searched the site and found this offering. I doubled the recipe, added a splash more Worcestershire and wine, leaned heavy on the salt and pepper and probably quadrupled the garlic. Near the end I stirred in a block of cream cheese, saved the sour cream to dollop on top. Always use red wine in Stroganoff - both for color and flavor!

I made a few minor changes to accomodate our tastes, but this is a very good recipe. I used stew meat as that is what I had on hand, omitted the onions, replaced the water with beef broth, and doubled the mushrooms. I used 8 oz sour cream and 3 oz cream cheese to make it a little rich. The sauce was *absolutely* delicious, I couldn't stop 'taste testing'. Just great, thank you!

I ended up with a sauce that was pretty runny and had to add cornstartch to thicken it, but overall it was good.

So very good.....sauce was light and not overly heavy. The wine in the sauce made a nice touch.

A good stroganoff recipe. I thought the top round was way too tough, next time I will try a more tender cut of meat! Mom's is better, though.

This recipe i think would've been great...however, i forgot to turn the slow cooker on before going to church. so, i got home everything was still very much raw and cold so i threw it all in the skillet and it was great then. i did add a little more onion and i used fresh mushrooms instead of canned. i also marinated sirloin strips in merlot overnite. got rave reviews on it from my friends even though they had to wait for a few minutes for it. i'm sure it would have really rocked in the slow cooker tho! thanks!
