Original Recipe Yield 2 dozen

Ingredients

  • 4 (1 ounce) squares unsweetened chocolate
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 3/4 cups white sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup chopped macadamia nuts
  • 1 1/2 cups white chocolate chips

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Coat a 9x13 inch baking pan with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Melt chocolate and butter in bowl over simmering water. Remove from heat and stir until smooth.
  3. Sift together the flour, baking powder and salt, set aside. In a medium bowl, stir together the sugar, vanilla and eggs. Add the chocolate mixture and stir until well blended. Then add the dry ingredients, mix well. Finally stir in the nuts and 3/4 cup of the chips.
  4. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan. Sprinkle remaining chips evenly over the top. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until firm and white chips are lightly colored. Cut into bars when cool.
