This is the first Kugel I have ever made and while I think saying "it tastes like cheesecake" is a stretch it was still very good. My husband has never had it and he loves it and he's a very picky eater. I did go with the earlier reviews and cut the milk down to 1 and 1/4 cup, but the consistency was still very yummy. Thanks!

Great kugel! Like another reviewer, the first time I made this kugel, I forgot the milk. The second time I added the milk and it was a bit runny and didn't hold together as well. Next time, I'll skip the milk or use < 2 cups.

This was the first kugel I've ever made but it got rave reviews from the crowd. Even my parents asked me to bring it to the next family get-together. The only thing I changed was the topping. Instead of the one suggested, I put 2 cups of frosted flakes and 1.5 Tbspn. of brown sugar in a baggie and smashed it. Then I sprinkled it on top. Yum!

My son has been asking for Kugel since an international food day in elementary school. This is exactly what he wanted and it was excellent! The first time I reduced the amount to be sure he'd like it and it came out perfect. This time I used the recipe as is and it came out very wet on the bottom, like water wet. Any idea what I did wrong? It's fine today cold!

I added a jar of applesauce and used low-fat milk. Everyone loved it!

I made this for Thanksgiving....It was a big hit....I was very rushed during the prepping and started throwing everything in the bowl and after it was put in the oven I realized I did not add the milk....However it was fantastic without it and that is how I will be making it from now on!

I tried this recipe for Rosh Hashanah this year and served it to a table of people who have never tried kugel before - except my husband who has not previously been a fan. They all loved it including my husband who said it was the best kugel I had ever made! I served it hot with generous spoonful of sour cream which offset the sweet taste very nicely and made it a good accompaniment to our dinner.

This was very good - a creamy, not overly sweet kugel with a crunchy, flavorful topping. I cut the milk to 1.5 cups and it was still a bit liquidy. I think next time I'd cut it to 1 1/4 cups. A can of pineapple tidbits would make a great addition.
