This reminds me of school cafeteria lunch back in the 50's and 60's that was served over mashed potatoes with green beans on the side. I make my own version of this from time to time but never with sage due to my personal preference and my dislike of the flavor of sage. I add cayenne pepper and sea salt to boost the flavor.

Love it! It does not taste quite like my mom's,but it's just as good! I never seem to have onion on hand, and used minced onion instead. Otherwise, I followed the recipe. Hubby and kids love it!

Very good! It could use a tad bit more seasonings than what it called for, but everyone in my family liked it and my family includes picky young children :). I will definitely make it again with the same seasonings but just increase them a little. Very yummy! Thanks for sharing!

I thought I made this as written, but when I came to review it I realized I didn't use butter. This recipe is delicious. The most wonderful comfort food. The flavor was great. The spices just right.

I'd give you a 10 if I could - this recipe was absolutely wonderful. My only addition was a little garlic and served it on a mountain of mashed potatoes. It doesn't get any better than this!

We call this SOS at our house.. good old Army food. I don't use the chicken bouillon granules but do use everything else and it's so delicious. We eat it over toast. Love love love this.

I love this stuff! They served it in my elementary school cafeteria. I loved it then and now my whole family loves it. It also gets points for quick, cheap and hard to mess up.
