I was looking for a simple summer salad and this suited exactly what I had in mind. I only had a huge red onion, so I just guessed on the amount (and went for less instead of more because I didn't want it to overpower the salad). For the ranch dressing I used the three cheese ranch variety and it was fabulous. I think it adds enough extra flavour. I'll make it this way all the time. Great for a potluck!

It was very plain and didn't have much flavor. I'd add bacon next time, but wouldn't make this again.

My kids kept asking for pasta salad, heard about it from a friend. This was easy and very good. They love it! Just adjust amt. of onions to your liking. I like a few, not a whole bunch I am going to taste all night. :( Great salad!

Was looking for a way to use the cucumber I had been given in a different way than my usual vinegar marinated cucumbers. I used green onion, so added some red bell pepper to this salad for the extra color. The ranch dressing and the cucumber pair perfectly making this a terrific luncheon salad. Very yummy served over tomato wedges with cold rotisserie chicken on the side.

Delicious, simple salad, however, I did alter the measurements of a few ingredients. I decided to use whole grain pasta and the box was 13.5 ounces so I used a 10 oz box of peas, 1 small red onion, 1 cucumber, 1 1/2 c reduced fat sharp cheddar ( had some on hand that had to get used) and a 16 oz bottle of reduced fat ranch dressing. It turned out perfect! I don't care for creamy pasta salads, I usually go with a vinagrette base and we really enjoyed this. As written, I believe this salad is going to be a bit dry. I had a tough time deciding how to rate this, but I don't want to be unfair. As long as I listed the changes I made I don't feel bad. The sweetness of the peas add a wonderful touch to this salad. I do plan to make this using regular pasta and dressing during the summer months for picnics and BBQ'S. Again, we truly enjoyed this and I don't think any other seasoning needs to be added with these changes. Thank you for sharing this :)

This recipe was a little bland. I even added ham, cubed cheese and celery and it still needed more flavor.

Man this is good stuff and very simple! Made a few additions to this by adding some cubed smoky ham and cubed cheddar. The ham and cheddar added a smoky saltiness that was a perfect accompaniment to the flavors of this salad. Wow this made a stupendous salad that could be served as a meal. Thanks we really enjoyed it.**Edit** to say that the pasta will absorb the ranch dressing, so if making ahead of time you should either wait to add the dressing right before serving or have extra on hand to remoisten the salad as needed.
