This was easy to make and tasted delicious. My only complaint was that the cracker breading got mushy when the sauce was added. If anyone has tips on how to keep it crunchy that would be great. Followed directions exactly. One note, where it said to grease the baking dish, I used softened butter to grease the pan.

This was very good. I used italian bread crumbs and after browning, covered the meat in marinara sauce, as per some of the previous suggestions. Covered the dish with foil and baked at 300f for an hour. Covered with mozzarella cheese then placed under the broiler for 5 minutes. Served this with some chilli spaghetti pasta and broccoli...easy meal with a lot of flavor, was well enjoyed by everyone.

I used this recipe and thought it was great. I never follow recipes to the tee, I use recipes as an idea. I always add a little bit of my flavor to it, theres nothing you can spice up. The tomatoe sauce is bland sure..if you leave it bland, you can always add some extra oregano, parsley, garlic salt, basil, allspice, and anything else you think would go right with it,which is what I done. My sauce came out awsome both me and my husband loved it. I used some angel hair pasta and added a little extra virgin olive oil and parsley just for added flavor..I also didnt add my mozerella untill I baked the steaks a little with the sauce.

Absolutely wonderful dish. My husband and I eat cube steak quite often, but only know two ways to cook it, so when I came across this recipe I had to try it. I used Italian breadcrumbs and placed Ragu sauce over the cube steaks with aluminum foil and cooked for 1 hour. They came out so tender, didn't even need a knife to cut. Will definitely continue to cook this!

Thank you for such a delicious recipe! I seasoned my steaks first and used a jar of Ragu and added more seasonings. I served it on top of whole wheat spaghetti noodles. The finished product came out extremely tasty! This is a winner and a new addition to my recipe stash!

This was amazing! I too used bread crumbs and a jar of spaghetti sauce. And I didn't have any mozzarella so I sprinkled with shredded mild cheddar. It was very easy to prepare and tasted great!! I served an angel hair pasta dish on the side. Bread would have completed the meal but I ran out of time. This is definitely a recipe I recommend you try.

VERY good! I didn't make it exactly as the recipe called... used canned sauce and bread crumbs for the coating, but the concept was fantastic. I was able to use up some cubed steaks we would have never eaten otherwise. And the cheese on top was a PERFECT addition. My husband raved about that part for sure. I was hesitant to put the sauce on top before baking b/c I thought it would make it soggy, but I was wrong. I'll do the same thing with my chicken parma in the future... it soaked in the flavor and was really yummy!

Excellent recipe! I fried sliced zuchinni and onions in the fry pan after removing the cube steaks and added the sauce to simmer. Then I put all of it over the cube steaks and put on the cheese. Tasty!

I didn't know what to expect! But it was very good. I didn't have mozzarella so I used provolone and still very good! The only bad part was that I only made two and didn't make more!

I gave this four stars because I think that the recipe sounds tasty. However, we didn't like the homemade sauce to go on it. My husband wouldn't even eat it without almost gagging. I thought it was bitter or something but could hadle it better than him. I think next time I will try it with a jar of spaghetti sauce.

Nothing wrong with the recipe, but apparently I still hate cube steak. This did not provide the magic necessary to make cube steak not a strangely textured meat. With that said, I too used jarred sauce but did everything else according to the recipe. To people who used the pre-shredded mozzarella--oh you're missing out. The kind you buy in a brick and cut yourself is about 5 billion times tastier and, in all likelihood, makes this recipe 5 stars (if you like cube steak anyways.) My husband ate both our steaks so nothing was wrong with the recipe...we'll try it again with chicken and see if that suits me better :)

OMG - this is the only way to make cubed steaks. I've never had a good cube steak before and these were delicious. We used about yr old frozen venison and it came out wonderful. The key is to only brown the steaks in the pan for 1-2 minutes on each side and to allow most of the cooking to take place in the oven. I baked 1/2 w/sauce (as per another reviewer) & 1/2 the way the recipe stated. They both came out great. Another idea: Omit the tomato sauce and make sandwiches using this recipe. Top w/your favorite cheese or sauce.

Excellent! My family loved these. When grandma comes to town, they all wait for cube steak and mashed potatoes. I think this equally as enticing, if not more so! I didn't have saltines, so I used spiced bread crumbs. And I used Ragu sauce instead of preparing my own. Easy and yummy!

Ok recipe for cube steak. I will make again, but with chicken. We just don't really like cube steaks, but the breading was delicious. I did also use sauce from a jar, and that was very good.
