This is a Taste of Home recipe. The bread came out tender and soft on the inside and lightly crispy on the outside. I made 4 great sub buns.

This is one of the only recipes I've ever tried that I didn't feel the need to alter AT ALL. It is absolutely perfect as is, and even though I used spelt flour instead of all-purpose (wheat-allergies), it was amazing. I will be making this all the time now!!

Yummy and oh so easy!!! Followed the directions except I didn't have cornmeal but it didn't matter. I also cheated with the kneading and let my dough hooks do the work but it still turned out fantastic. I'm going to be teaching my ESE students this recipe tomorrow and many teachers have requested a loaf.

So very pleased with this recipe! It's the closest I've come so far to copying store-bought french bread without spending hours in the kitchen! Just remember that you have a whole tray of steaming water in the oven and to keep your face away when you open the door to check on the bread. I almost steam-burned my eyeballs with this lack of common sense!
