INGREDIENTS
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
6 tablespoons butter or margarine
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup sugar
1 egg
2 tablespoons milk
1/4 teaspoon grated lemon peel
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup chopped nuts

DIRECTIONS
In a medium bowl, mix flour and brown sugar. Cut in butter until mixture resembles fine crumbs. Set aside 1/2 cup for topping; press remaining crumbs into bottom of ungreased 8-in. x 8-in. x 2-in. baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees F for 15 minutes. Meanwhile, in a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese on medium speed for 30 seconds. Add sugar; beat until fluffy. Add egg, milk, lemon peel, juice and vanilla; mix well. Spread over baked crust. Combine nuts with reserved crumbs; sprinkle over cream cheese mixture. Bake 20-25 minutes more or until done. Cool in pan on wire rack.

This is an easy to follow recipe with great results. I doubled the recipe because these bars go fast! Yum!

yup of course it came out delicious. the only thing is, im not sure what i did wrong but my crust wasnt crumbly. it was more batter-y. it still came out beautiful and tasted great. and the look on people's faces when they try it....

Excellent recipe. The recipe does call for nuts so I chose to try pecans. Came out fantastic!
