This is a FANTASTIC bread recipie. Incredibly flavorful and tasty. Made it for work and the entire office adored it. I followed the recipie to a "T!" The only problem I had was that instead of baking it in one loaf pan I baked it in 4 mini-loaf pans and unfortunatly overbaked it a little bit. So if you bake this in mini-loaf pans make sure you DONT bake it for more than 30 minutes!!!! SO, as that was my own fault, this recipie gets 5 stars plus some!

I omitted the raisins and used 2 medium Red Delicious apples. I baked it in a mini muffin tin (yielded about 4 dozen muffins) at 325 for 15-20 minutes. I also topped it with a simple crumb topping (2 tablespoons butter, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup flour) before baking to give it a little something extra. While these weren't the most moist muffins ever, they are definitely good and worth the ingredients used.

I used dried figs diced up instead of raisins and it was wonderful. Even better the next day I think. Thanks for a great recipe.

Very moist, delicious and crunchy - it definitely lives up to it's name. When I cut it open you could detect a faint smell of orange from the orange juice. I added 1 tsp. of vanilla, 1/2 tsp. of cinnamon, and 1/2 tsp. of baking powder. I used 2 c. of chopped granny smith apples, 3/4 c. raisins and 3/4 c. of chopped walnuts. It tasted like a warm apple pie with those additions. I will definitely make this again!

I love making muffins and breads. I follow the first time but these were so dry. Was it because I used margarine (I was told it was the same as shortening), or because I made little muffins instead of a loaf? I used granny smith. Any ideas? Thanks.

This bread has wonderful flavor. I must admit that the orange juice in the recipie adds a flavor that I was'nt quite expecting- but to my suprise, it was really good. I did make some variations to the recipie- I used 2 cups of apples, and omitted the rasins and the pecans. I would recommend this recipie, and I will also keep it in my recipie box for future use. Thanks for sharing :)

I followed the recipe exactly and it came out delicious. But I did need to add 10 minutes to the baking time. I found the batter a little hard to mix and thought it was too dry but once it baked it came out perfect. The bread was very tasty without being too sweet or heavy. Perfect with coffee or tea. The kids love it too. Thanks for sharing!

This recipe is AWESOME!! The bread was gone within a couple of hours after baking! My 12 yr old son even commented on how much he loved it! I added 2 cups of apples instead of one cause I had them and also sprinkled cinnamon and sugar on top before baking. Next time I will double the recipe so maybe it will last more than an afternoon!
