Used my bread machine for these. I thought the dough was extremely easy to work with. Only problem was some of mine came out dark and cooked too quickly-- obviously not the recipe's fault I am still mastering how to fry these. I was using a pot and candy thermometer since I don't have a deep fryer. I will definitely save this recipe for when overnight guests are visiting.

These are AWSOME!! I ended up adding approx. 1/2 cup additional flour so the dough didn't stick to the side of the bowl. The frosting had a strong butter taste to me, I will decrease the butter next time. Deffinently will be making these again. They turned out so light and airy.

These doughnuts were the best I've ever made! The glaze was exactly what I wanted (I added a little lemon juice). My doughnuts cooked perfectly at 350 degrees.

These were fantastic! this is my first try on homemade doughnuts and they were a hit. I used cake flour and had to add a little extra to get it right, but worth it. I also made a second batch of chocolate glaze by adding some cocoa powder. It made twice the batch and holes!

Made half batch and my daughters loved eating them. I used half cup flour more than the recipe stated as the dough was too sticky. The icing is a must.

I just used the glaze for biscuit dough donuts - it was really good. I put sprinkles on them too.

Sooooo Good, some of mine came out a little greasy but I'm sure if I mess around with the temp of the grease this wont happen again!! Great recipe! Best doughnuts I've ever made!!

The taste is awesome but it absorbs quite a bit of oil that I had to toss the donuts in kitchen towel several times. Set the fryer at 350 and then 375 but both gave me same result.

While these were pretty good, I just didn't think that the taste was worth the time investment! Maybe I was hoping for too much. I tried to not hold it against the recipe, and still gave 4 stars. If you're really trying to compare them to Krispie Kremes, the donuts themselves are too dense, but the glaze is spot on (as long as you make it thin enough...I added a bit more water.) My main complaint was that I made a half batch of donuts and a full batch of glaze, and STILL ran out of glaze! I did dip both sides of the donuts in the glaze, but I don't think they were that great without it, so I'd definitely double dip again! If you'd like to add sprinkles, do so quickly after glazing or you'll miss your window of opportunity. Lastly, I found that the best donuts were the ones that were the least cooked -- almost just a pale tan color.

These doughnuts turned out great!! We loved them. My only addition would be a pinch of salt to the glaze, it really makes it taste just like the "original". Otherwise it's just a little too sweet. Don't forget to fry the holes too!

light and fluffy on the inside but not sure if the temp is right, at least for me. They browned much quicker than it seems like they should have and mine also didn't sink- they floated right away. Good flavor though. Thanks.

this recipe was FABULOUS!!! if i could give it 10 stars i would! i took other people advice and cooked them on 325. the only thing i would make a note about is to make sure the glaze is still hot when you put it on the warm donuts so that its not too thick. it drys pretty quickly.

These doughnuts were good, but not quite like the ones from the doughnut shop; it is rather easy to tell which doughnut shop they are supposed to taste like! They were not quite "fluffy" enough, but they were very good! I'm sure I will make them again, because my family really loved them! They also looked very nice, and the glaze was very tasty. Thanks for the recipe; it is definitely the closest I've come to recreating the doughnuts from that doughnut shop!

These were great! Fun to make and pretty tasty! I halved the recipe and there were PLENTY of donuts. We experimented by using the glaze, cinnamon/sugar, and powdered sugar...and the glaze won...big time! We did try glazed, then sprinkled with cinnamon/sugar and that was pretty tasty too. Give it a shot!
