I have made a very similar dish and instead of coating the chicken in butter/margarine I have used egg- cuts down on fat.. similar taste... yum!

This was quite good. I did make a few changes to give it a bit more spice. Instead of dipping the chicken in butter, I dipped it in Ceaser salad dressing and then into the potato flakes to which I had added 1/2 c Italian cheese (instead of just parmesan), 1 t rosemary, 1 t oregano and 1 t granulated garlic.

Yum! This chicken was so good. Everyone loved it. I used all skinless, boneless thighs. Just be sure to add some spices to the coating.

Loved the crunchy outside, without the skin! Very simple and tasty! I have made with boneless breasts, too. In my opinion, this recipe is too plain without the bone to give some flavor. And... it is called crispy HERB chicken! Where are the herbs in the recipe!? I will definitely make again, using bone-in chicken and adding HERBS!.

All three of my kids really liked this and asked for seconds. I will definitely make this recipe again. I used boneless chicken and cut it into chunks.

I made this exactly as directed and cooked it for one hour. The chicken was good but I felt that the coating was lacking something. It was crunchy and light but I would have liked a thicker coating. Will probably make again since it's so, so easy unless I find a better recipe.

This is definitely a keeper! Everyone in the family cleaned their plates! We followed some of the previous reviewers' suggestions and added crumbs and Italian seasoning, paprika and black pepper. We didn't have seasoned bread crumbs, but put some seasoned croutons through the food processor to make the crumbs. We'll be sharing this recipe with everyone in our family! Thanks!

Great recipe with such an interesting taste!!!! So good! The only thing that I did different was added some italian seasoning, bread crumbs and I left the skin on the chicken. Another family favorite to add to the list.

Absolute perfection! My husband and I both agree that not only is this baked chicken the closest tasting to fried, it is also just about the best chicken we have ever tasted. My search is finally over for a baked chicken that taste like it has been fried. I had no problem with the coating coming off, and I also broiled it the last 5 minutes to make it a nice golden, crispy brown. This recipe is a great find for anyone who likes the taste of fried chicken, but looking for a healthier way to prepare it. Thank you so much for this wonderful recipe!Update!! I have made this wonderful chicken twice since my first review. If you really want a treat, experiment with different kinds of potato flakes. Tonight I used buttered flavored. Fantastic!!

Made this recipe for the first time tonight with a whole cut up chicken and absolutely loved it! It really tasted like "fried" chicken. Mine came out pretty crispy. I took the suggestion from other reviewers and added dry Italian Seasoning mix and Italian Bread crumbs, salt(instead of garlic salt since I didn't have any) and pepper (would of liked to use Paprika as well, but again, didn't have any). Had it with homemade mashed potates and corn-on-the-cob...tasted like a Southern home-cooked meal. This will be one that I make again and again.

I made this recipe last night for my family and a guest. The only alteration I made was to add some poultry seasoning with a little mesquite in it. HUGE hit ...they ate it all. I made boneless strips so the cooking time was reduced. Great recipe!
