This was pretty good. The more I ate it the more I wanted. I followed some suggestions and browned the mashed potatoes in the pan first to make the crust firmer. I added garlic to the veggies and found I needed a bit more tomato puree than stated. (about 2 cups once simmered). For feta I used the tomato and basil flavored kind and it seemed to add a nice flavor. I will make again.... if I change anything next time it will be to use tomato paste and sauce instead.

Loved it! I didn't have any tomato puree/paste so I substituted with beef jar gravy. Couldn't find Zucchini (fresh or frozen)so I used a mixed frozen veggies. I will make again. I took the advice of one of the reviewers & baked the mashed potatoes for 10 min before I added the meat & crescents.

This is great for a different hamburger dish. I followed the changes suggested by Necia and made it into a two-layer dish in a 9x9 pan and cooked the crust somewhat beforehand to crisp a little - next time, I will not add so much milk to the mashed potatoes. Did not have puree, so used an 8 ounce can of sauce. DH liked this, and that says a lot.

So good! I told my husband (who thought it was the best thing ever)that I couldn't believe I didn't know about this before! Yum! Only change we made was to add fresh minced garlic to the veggies. Thanks for sharing- I will definitely make this again!

This is a great dish to whip up when in a hurry - nothing much to it and the end result smells/tastes/feels like a hearty comfort-food meal. Switching up the veggies makes for a nice change each time I serve this one - which is about once a month!

I really enjoyed this dish. Healthy and satisfying. I added a little cream, onion and garlic powder to the potato mash. I also think next time I make it I'll add some chili flakes to the meat and veggies for a little extra flavour.

This tasted great. It was harder than I thought to spread out the crescent rolls on top.

I added some chili powder and crushed red peppers to the beef mixture because after tasting it I thought it was kind of bland. But in the end it was very good and the kids loved it and I will be making this again.

This was good. I didnt have any zucchini on hand, so I threw in a cup of corn instead. My kids loved the crescent roll topping. They asked for it next week too.

I revised it to "busy mom style" and used birdseye brand frozen tuscan veggies in tomato herb sauce in with the beef, along with some leftover tomato sauce I had. I also used instant garlic mashed potatos with some cheddar cheese in, and italian herb flavored feta cheese. It was very tasty, but with the cresent rolls on top-not so microwave leftover friendly. If I make this again, I'll not put the dough on top.

This is pretty good. I made a few changes since I was running out of ingredients but needed to use up some zucchini. So, I had to eliminate onions and peppers and just used all the zucchini I had, although I did add a healthy portion of minced garlic and some onion powder. I also did two layers of mashed potatoes--one on top, one on bottom, bc I didn't have crescent rolls but I have plenty of potatoes. I thought it was a bit bland, but that may be bc of what I eliminated. I think I'll just add a few more spices next time along with more feta. Bf really liked it and told me it is "basically a shephard's pie, right?" I'll be making it again. Thanks!

I was very pleasantly surprised with this casserole. I did make a couple changes: omitted the green pepper (we didn't have any and I didn't miss it), and used shredded swiss cheese instead of feta (that was what we had). For the tomato puree, I drained one can of diced tomatoes and ran it in my blender for a few seconds. This turned out great- we will make it again!

This was sooo good! My husband loved it. I did make a couple substitutions, just based on what I had on hand: red pepper instead of green, 2 tbsp tomato paste plus water instead of tomato puree, and shredded cheddar instead of feta. I also followed another reviewer's advice to bake the potato crust a bit before adding the other ingredients. I will definitely make this again!

A nice change from regular beef casserole. I used ''Easy Biscuit Mixture'' from this site to go over the top as canned biscuit stuff is not available where I live. Will be sure the biscuits on top are not piled so thick as the meal is ''heavy'' enough without putting a mile of dough on top..haha..but the flavors and idea are superb, thanks!

Very tasty! Made a few changes: 1) Brushed the mashed tater crust w/ olive oil and baked for 30 minutes to crisp up; 2) Used a 9 x 9 pan; 3) Made two layers of the meat/cheese/crescent rolls instead of just one. Will make again!
