This is delicious! And relatively easy to make - I like to make it for family gatherings, and it never fails to make me look like a better cook than I really am!

I made this for family members Christmas morning and had no left overs. I've made several similar make-ahead french toast recipes, and this is by far the tastiest. I had to print out many copies of this recipe for family and friends. Great!

This was great and got good reviews from the whole family!! I did the following substitutions as others had suggested and I think they were dead on. I used 3/4c brown sugar and only 1 Tbls. corn syrup. (Now that I have made this I might sub maple syrup for the corn syrup next time.) I only used 4 eggs and it was plenty "eggy". I can see what others were talking about. I was able to fit 8 slices of French Bread in the 9" x 13" pan. I left the crusts on with excellent results. I would suggest not skimping on the orange liqueur as it definitely added the extra layer of flavor that made it an "over the top" recipe. Our liqueur stores sell small samples of liqueur at the registers, and I was able to buy that for just a couple bucks!! I sprinkled the top with cinnamon before baking. Would recommend that too. After the casserole was done baking I flipped all the slices over and put the dish under the broiler for just a few minutes to brown the tops until golden brown.

So fabulous! I didn't have OJ or GM, but it still turned out delicious and would be awesome for an AM get-together or brunch!

OMG!!!! This is SOOOOOOOO delicious!! I was planning a girls' brunch, so I tested this out on my family first. They LOVED it!! My husband had 3 servings that night and my daughter even ate it for lunch the next day. When I served it for my brunch, ALL the women raved about how AMAZING it was and all asked for the recipe. One woman who said she didn't even like the taste of creme brulee LOVED it, and you know, it REALLY does taste like creme brulee!! YUUUMMMMM!!!! The best part was how EASY it was to make - very few ingredients and you can prepare it the night before. This recipe will definitely be added to my recipe library and I will be making it for MANY occasions to come!! Thank you for this!!!

I have made this recipe MANY times and it is fantastic! Every special brunch or breakfast I have hosted in the past 3 years has featured this, and now my friends and familt expect it! I make it just as written, except I have never removed any crusts. Also, do not let this sit around for too long after removing from the oven--once my guests were late and while it sat, the delicious caramel on the bottom hardened and then got stuck in our teeth while we ate it. But that was my guests' fault, not the recipe's! An absolutely fabulous, easy, and convenient recipe.

THE BEST french toast bake recipe. A staple every year for Christmas morning. I like to try new recipes but every year I try, I get asked to make this one again. Don't fix it if it ain't broke, I guess!

This is not your traditional French Toast. In my opinion it was more like bread pudding than French Toast. The taste was awesome but the texture was horrible!

This is so delicious. I made it for the first time for a mother's day brunch. I tripled the recipe and it was gone so fast! I recently made it for a christmas gathering. I only had 1 cup of half & half so I added 1/2 cup of creme brule liquor and it turned out wonderfully!
