I did change the recipe (even though I hate it when people do that), but I used about 2/3 can sweetened cond. milk because it was just tasting too sweet, added an extra yolk because my eggs were small and I heard yolks prevent cracking, and doubled the spices and it was incredible!! Mostly I needed this recipe to figure out how to make the pie from fresh pumpkin because in Italy they don't have canned pumpkin. Simple now I know, before I was super confused.
Everyone loved it despite never tasting a pumpkin pie before (and I consider myself an expert because I love them so much and I thought it was spot on, best I have ever had), one person even said "I see why Americans are crazy about their pie."
