Wonderful. Even my picky daughter who doesn't eat potatoes ate the broth on this soup and proclaimed it two thumbs up.

This was so scrumptous! My two year old loved it too! I changed the serving size to 3 since my husband won't eat it. I did add some pepper, salt and garlic powder for more flavor.

I really like this soup! I used WAY too many potaoes though and it was almost mashed potatoes but it was still really tasty (added a bit of water to thin it out). I did add a bit of salt & pepper as well. I gave half of of the batch to my parents and they called me right after eating it and RAVED about it! However, my boyfriend wasn't too fond of it, he admitted to me, he would have liked it if it was more greasy. I strongly dissagree! :)

This is a realy great recipe! I did what some of the other reviewers said and used less than the full pound of bacon. I'm going to try replacing half or all of the chicken broth with vegetable broth the next time I make this. I think it will add some more depth to the flavor.

AWESOME!!! My whole family loved it, & it was so easy & quick to make!! I did substitute the bacon with bulk italian sausage & sauteed the leeks in those drippings. I also added about 1 tbsp garlic powder & 1 tbsp black pepper. I served it with crusty french rolls & a salad,it makes a great Fall dinner when it's cold outside.I Will definitely make again, I think I may try adding fresh sliced mushrooms next time...YUM!!!

Holy Cows!!! This is a definite must eat. I loved this soup, and will make it again just for the awesome smell of potates and bacon it leaves behind. Make-leave house-come back in-sniff-drool-eat!!!

Great soup, and it allows for ample tinkering (as proven by the fact I printed this recipe and then forgot the sheet at the office and ended up doubling the proportion of leeks and broth of the original recipe). The only "conscious" changes I made were sauteeing the leeks with a little white wine (as opposed to frying them) and substituting the cream for milk. Will definitely make it again!

Wonderful! I had never cooked with leeks before, they were great. Wish they weren't so costly! I stirred about 2 cups grated cheddar in to melt-Yum!

Just made this and it is fantastic! More like a side dish than soup. Was even better with the cheese added. I used sharp cheddar (Tillamook). Thanks Anna!

fantabulous recipe; easy to make. i pureed everything in a blender to make a smooth, creamy soup; used beef stock instead of chicken & used turkey bacon -- but it turned out well.

This was a great recipe! It took no time to prepare and make. The only changes I made were: 6 medium yellow potatoes, 2 medium leeks, 2 cups of milk in addition to the 4c of chicken stock, and I partially mashed the potatoes so that the potatoes and liquids was creamy. Other then that I highly recommend this recipe.

This soup is fantastic and so easy! I only used 1/2 lb. of bacon though and mashed the potatoes somewhat to make it creamier.
