Wonderful recipe. I made the following modifications: used half and half instead of heavy cream, fresh ground black pepper, 2 pounds of shrimp, the juice of 1/2 fresh lemon, and 1/4 cup of Chardonnay. I also added fresh vegetables that I had lying around -- asparagus, broccoli, and spinach. Added after the shrimp so the veggies didn't overcook. My daughter even loved it!

This was very good. I think that I would increase the pesto to 2/3 cup next time. I had a hard time getting mine to thicken up so I will also add more Parmesan cheese. Other than that it was great!!

This was a very good recipe, very tasty. If you want to cut down on calories and fat, decrease the butter and cheese & use lite cream. I did that, and also doubled the pesto & added some dried basil (1-2 tbsps). YUM! Thanks Loreta, for a new shrimp dish!

I was not impressed by this recipe, but I must say I did try to lighten it up a bit as others suggested, and maybe that is why I didn't think it was that great. I used half and half instead of heavy cream and the dry pesto mix. My husband and I agreed that it was OK, but bland. I would recommend following the directions a little more closely and maybe you will have better luck with this one than I did.

I did a few changes too using half amt. of butter, used light cream, 2 cloves of garlic which I will increase the garlic next time and add more pesto to the milk as suggested by another. Husband didn't think it was very flavorful but my son and myself really enjoyed it.

This recipe is delicious! I used half-half like previously suggested. One minor change, I didn't cook the shrimp as long as the recipe states because I tossed it and let it finish cooking in the pasta. This way the shrimp was at perfect!

My family and I love this recipe. I used Knorr's Pesto Sauce mix and half & half to cut down a few calories. This is a definite keeper.

Followed this recipe exactly but added a little chopped scallions and red bell pepper for color. It was heavenly!!! Everyone raved about it. What a shame it is so fattening and expensive to make.

Made this recipe for the first time, and wow, what a great entree. The sauce was absolute wonderful. The shrimp were very flavorful. Extremely easy to make, and prep is a breeze. A++ Will have to try this again another day.

This was a delicious meal. I halved the recipe and used homemade pesto (3 ice cube portions). My shrimp did take a little longer to cook, but that could be my stove. Thanks for a real keeper!

A great, simple recipe as is or add a few embellishments like minced garlic, scallions, mushrooms and diced, fresh tomatoes and/or fresh basil to really add some pizzaz according to taste. Definitely use fresh Parmesan or Romano. I used fat-free Half and Half because that was what I had on hand. Contrary to what a previous review said by tamartini, this is definitely pesto. You're just using the prepared pesto which IS basil and pine nuts.

I receive allrecipes daily dish and this Creamy Pesto Shrimp dish was the highlight of the day so I decided to make it since I had all the ingredients on hand. Additionally over 500 members reviewed this dish with very high ratings. Gezzzz guy's I am not with you on this one... This sauce is big on calories and little on flavor. I like a creamy pesto sauce as a departure from pure pesto which can be achieved by just adding about 1/4 a cup of heavy cream or half and half to a homemade pesto with garlic, sea salt and freshly grated parmesan cheese. You will save tons of calories and you will get the creamy taste this recipe offers. Sometimes less really is more... less cream more pure pesto taste. I do appreciate how versatile this recipe is with the shrimp, chicken, salmon or just the pesto sauce and pasta. With my modifications I would give it four stars. But as is well... you see my results!!

Fantastic ! ! ! Easy ! ! ! Now look, folks, it's got a stick of butter and 2 cups of whipping cream - it can't help but be good. And to all of you that said it was too rich and too much fat, what did you expect - it's got a stick of butter and 2 cups of whipping cream. Duh ! ! ! I followed the directions exactly and it was superb. My husband said this was a "keeper".

I took three bits and was full by the amount of fat that is in this dish. The sauce is WAY to thick, and way to rich! It was almost more of a paste. After i had already had my whole stick of butter melting in the pan, i had read how to reduce the fat in this dish. I would consider trying some of the other cooks suggestions, but by then...you're really cooking a completely different dish.

This recipe got rave reviews from my boyfriend! He said this was the best shrimp dish he's ever had. I think it's a very solid dish, but I wasn't overly impressed. I tried to cut back on the fat by using half and half. I'm not sure if this is the reason, but the cheese always clumps, so the sauce isn't smooth and creamy. I find this pasta tastes best after a day of letting the flavors marinate in the fridge. Very simple to make.
