Creamy Parmesan Sauce

  1. Prepare Carnation® Simple White Sauce by melting butter in medium saucepan, add flour and cook over low heat stirring for 1 minute.
  2. Whisk in milk and salt. Bring to a boil, lower heat and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally until sauce has thickened.
  3. Add Parmesan cheese, stirring until melted. Stir in chicken stock.
  4. Cook bacon or pancetta in a skillet, until crisp, about 2-3 minutes. Add to white sauce and stir until combined.

  • Freezing: not recommended
  • TIPS:
  • Simple White Sauce should lightly coat the back of a spoon.
  • This sauce can be made up to 2 days ahead. Cover and refrigerate until ready to use. If sauce has thickened just add a tablespoon (15mL) of chicken stock or water at a time until you get the desired consistency.
  • Pancetta can be found at the deli counter of your grocery store.
  • Delicious over chicken, fish, beef or pork.
