I added the half and half with the vanilla, and after having one mug (which was delicious), put it all in a thermos and let it cool, since I made the whole recipe, but there's just me! Well, it was a million times better the next day. Even richer and much creamier. Thanks for a delicious, DELICIOUS hot chocolate!!

I scale this recipe to one serving but use only 2T sugar. I heat the milk in the microwave and then stir everything in. It's quick and tasty when my little boy wants hot chocolate.

Nice Hot chocolate pretty much the same as on the back of the container of Hershey's cocoa powder. I topped with fluff, nice for a rainy day.

Very good. Much better than the last hot chocolate recipe I tried from this site that tasted like warm milk with a chocolate chip floating in it. (it was bad). This was very chocolaty and sweet and was much more like store bought hot cocoa. I didn't measure precisely, just eyeballed it, but I'm sure I got darn close to the actual measurements and it was not too sweet at all. The only disappointment was that I cut the recipe in half because I was only serving myself and my husband and it didn't fill 2 mugs to the top, only about halfway on each. So if you are expecting to get 4 full mugs of hot cocoa from the 4 servings it lists, you better have small mugs. Next time I know to use the full recipe for two people.

Definitely plenty sweet with half the sugar. I used soymilk because that's all I had on hand. It was a teeny bit on the gritty side, but maybe that was the soy, not the cocoa. Either way, very yummy!

I made a big batch (4 x the ingredients)of this recipe for a gathering of friends. It was a fun afternoon get-together of hot chocolate and a variety of homemade cookies. Once the recipe was made, I transferred it to my slow cooker to keep warm. I brought out some liquers and let everyone add their favourites to their cups. Everyone liked it. However, I found it a bit "powdery" in texture, and found some cocoa sludge at the bottom of the cooker after the party. If making a big batch again, I would definitely use less cocoa powder and ensure that it was top-quality. As per other reviews, I used less sugar (just under 2 cups). Good idea!

Pretty tasty, but not really as fabulous as everyone makes it sound. My husband thought it was really good, but it still tasted like good old hot chocolate to me!

This hot chocolate recipe is amazing! :) I did not know that hot chocolate could taste so great by making it yourself in your home. Adding Toroni flavorings in this cocoa would be a great way to spice it up!

This is a delicious cocoa recipe. I don't think I can go back to the powder in a packet ever again. I only made two changes. First I didn't add the cream at the end of recipe. Second, I added a pinch of cayenne pepper to give it a subtle kick.

I love this! Unlike many other recipes I use, I don't adapt this one at all. It's great making a serving for myself, or enough for all of my roommates. I love adding whipped cream (not the fake stuff!) and sometimes even peppermint schnapps on a really cold day!
