The best easy, quick, chocolate frosting. Good on cupcakes.

Excellent and Quite Simple! Like others, used skim milk (lactose free) about 5 tbs and added one more TBS of cocoa powder and it was amazing and simple.

Very tasty! Next time I'll probably add a little more cocoa for a stronger chocolatey taste. The texture was great.

Great recipe! It was very easy to work with and was the perfect amount to frost a two-layer cake. I did use regular milk so I wouldn't waste a can of evaporated, and I added an extra tablespoon or two to make it the right consistency for me.

This was exactly what I was looking for to top my cupcakes - lots of chocolate goodness with the right consistency (especially after some time in the fridge) without having to turn on the stove. Actually, who needs cake? I could have eaten this by itself!

I thought this was pretty good. I did think it needed a stronger chocolate flavor so I added an ounce of melted unsweetened baking chocolate and it helped a little. I used a very high quality cocoa powder but it's a little older so that might have something to do with the chocolate flavor not being very strong.

It was good - but kind of light on the chocolate flavor. It may have been the kind of cocoa powder I used. This time I'll be trying dark chocolate, so I may be happier. - Edited to add: the cocoa powder makes a huge difference. I loved it this time!

I've been looking for just this type of frosting for a simple yellow cake. This one mixes up fluffy, chocolatey, but not too sweet. I agree with another reviewer about opening a can of evaporated milk for such a small amount and I actually used skim milk. This probably makes it a little less dense, but saves a few calories and I loved the fluffiness. I will probably use this one frequently. Thanks!

I've only ever made this with ordinary milk because I didn't have any evaporated milk on hand, but it still turns out a winner. This is my favorite chocolate frosting recipe. Thanks for sharing it definitely!

I made this to frost brownies. I took the advice of one of the reviewers and added an extra TBS of cocoa but it just seemed to be missing something. I don't know what. Something. I'm going to keep trying other recipes till I find one I like. Mine did turn out really thick, like we like it.

This is the best icing recipe ever! Perfect for cupcakes especially. I was worried at first because I didn't follow the directions exactly and just mixed the butter, evap.milk, and vanilla all at once. I thought for sure it would not come out right, but it was surprisingly perfect. And I followed all of the measurements and ingredients to a T! Tracy, I thank you, my husband thanks you and my children thank you:)

Good frosting but it tasted as though it was missing something to me. I had to add a lot more cocoa to make it taste like chocolate...about half a cup more but that may be personal preference. consistency worked perfectly with my marble cake (yellow and chocolate cake swirled) and everyone said it was very good. i would use this again but i might just keep searching for something else...

This frosting is delicious. I used more cocoa, and 1 1/2 tbl evaporated milk, and used margarine instead of butter. It tastes just like store bought. Yum!

Really smooth and creamy frosting, better then the ones I've made that were rather grainy even though I sifted the icing sugar. Thumbs up! Will definatly use this recipe again.

So creamy and delicious! I used a whole stick of butter and increased the other ingredients a little as well. It was plenty for my 13 x 9" banana cake....yum! I'll use this for other cakes too.

Quick and easy!!! Tastes great as well. I made this twice and the first time wasn't that great. It was way to runny and tasted like chocolate powder. The second time I made this I melted 2 1ounce squares of baking chocolate and mixed it in after I creamed the sugar and butter. then I only used 1 TBLSP of the evaporated milk. Turned out great and I was able to pipe it out onto mini cupcakes pretty easily. The shape stayed set pretty well after the cupcakes set out for about 30 minutes. I will definately make this again.
