Wow! I was really surprised at how well this frosting turned out. I used the Hershey's Special Dark cocoa because my family prefers dark chocolate. The frosting was the perfect consistency and everyone loved it. It was very easy to make and yielded much more than what I typically get in a can of frosting. This one is going into my recipe box. Thanks!

I loved it and I struggle with the consistency of frosting but it turned out great. I used real butter but 1% milk. Frosted a devil food cake with it. Big hit.

My most favorite frosting recipe I have found here, and I've tried alot. Perfect measurements! PS I made peanut butter cupcakes and used this frosting, when I was beating the butter I added a big scoop of peanut butter. I got a TON of compliments!

Excellent and very fast basic recipe. I decreased the milk by 1 Tbsp., added about 3/4 c extra sugar, and made up the rest of the liguid with maraschino cherry juice. Frosting has a beautiful color and consistancey.

Great texture and flavor. I recommend making and using it the day you intend to serve your baked goodie because it was kind of crusty the next day. To frost and fill a double-layer cake and frost 9 cupcakes, I combined 4 1/8 c. sugar, 12 T. cocoa, 9 T. butter, 7.5 T. milk and 1.5 t. vanilla.

This is my new favorite frosting! I have not found a recipe I like from scratch, until now! I used regular milk, as I didn't have condensed, and it turned out fine. I imagine the condensed milk would give it a stronger flavor, but combined with the cake I made, it tasted perfect. I will definitely be using this on all future cakes!

I used this for Homemade Chocolate Sandwich Cookies (recipe found on this website). Since I used yellow cake mix, I wanted the icing between the cookies to be chocolate. What I love about this is that you can make it thin or thick, or you can omit the chocolate and add some more vanilla for vanilla icing. I didn't have the evaporated milk on hand, so I followed the suggestion of several other reviewers and used the milk I had on hand, which was whole milk. It turned out fantastic.

Yummy! This is the best chocolate frosting! I added 1/4 cup less powdered sugar than called for but other than I stuck to the recipe! I frosted 24 cupcakes with a tad left over.

This is a great recipe! I was looking for something quick and easy. This is very similar to how I make my chocolate frosting, but I didn't have specific measurements so I went searching for something that was close to how I did it. And this was it!! I found this to be nice and creamy and spreads very easy! You may want to double the recipe for a larger cake. I made a recipe and a half for a 3 layer cake and it worked out nicely!! Also, I did use regular mile! Thanks for sharing!!

This recipe worked really well - I made 1 1/2 it so it would fill and frost a 9 inch layer cake, and it was just enough. I used unsalted butter, and it tasted a little bland - I think either salted butter or a dash of salt would have been better. Chocolate always seems to need a bit of salt.

wow! this frosting saved my cupcakes! I originally put cream cheese frosting one my cupcakes, but it was so rich and heavy, it just didn't seem appropriate for a cupcake. So I used this recipe and whipped it up for a couple minutes in my KA. I also added 1 extra tablespoon of evap. milk. it is so tasty!!
