I ran out of Chocolate Cream Cheese Frosting for my cake so I whipped this up. Very good. Spread beautifully. I think it will become my quintessential chocolate frosting.

Rich, chocolatey, thick, spreads great. This was everything I expected and more. Not too light or fluffy, very creamy and like the "homestyle" icings in the plastic tubs you find at the store. Thanks Tracy, this is just what I was looking for!

This frosting is good, but it seems like it's missing something to me - I will continue my search for the perfect chocolate frosting...

This frosting was yummy and easy to make. For those who thought it wasn't chocolatey enough, just add more cocoa. I also used whole milk and it turned out just fine.

Yummy! It was quite a delicous chocolate frosting. And super easy to make. I would make a double batch to frost and fill a two layer cake. Will use again in the near future.

Best Chocolate Frosting I have ever made. I used a whole stick of butter instead of 6 T and instead of evaporated milk I used whipping cream. Very smooth

This was so easy and tasted great. I ran out of cocoa so I only put in about 3 tablespoons and that was perfect for me (a person who doesn't care for chocolate much) My husband (a chocolate lover) likes it but of course would have liked a little more chocolate. I, too, used reg milk and only needed about 5 tablespoons to make it a soft spreading consistency.

I've made this twice now in the past week - awesome!!! My husband is raving about it. I did not have evaporated milk so I went ahead and used regular. Turned out great. I think next time I'm going to try adding a bit of coffee for a mocha flavor.

My husband and I LOVED this frosting! It's thick, rich, and every chocolate lover's dream. Just devine! I recommend doubling the recipe if you like a lot of frosting like we do. Plus, this doesn't spread the best (could have been that I didn't add enough evaporated milk) but it's SO good that it's worth piling on a little extra on the cake to cover every inch. You will NOT be disappointed. Easy and delicious! Thanks!

Good and different than other recipes. Easy to make. I used just about 2 batches to frost a layer cake, needed most of it. Good, but not the best yet.

I just made this frosting using Hershey's Special Dark cocoa and it made the most amazing frosting for the banana cake cupcakes I made.

This was wonderful. I forgot the vanilla on the first batch and you couldn't tell at all. Took me two batches for a 9x13 cake but we like alot of frosting. Will certainly go in the do-over file.

I was worried that this wouldn't be rich enough for the chocolate lovers in my house but it was a huge hit! I didn't have evaporated milk so I used lowfat milk and ended up using about 7 tablespoons, it was great and I will be making this again, thanks for the recipe!!

This turned out well. My first time making frosting. I did not have a sifter or anything on hand to sift so I mixed the sugar and cocoa using a fork. The consistency was VERY light. I only used 2 cups of sugar but I think I like it a little sweeter.
