I made these a couple of weeks ago and and served with pork chops. The cheese sauce was very simple and easy to make. They were delicious! Will make again. A really family comfort food.

This was soooo good. But I chopped the onion. Everything else was the same. Baked in glass 9x9 dish.

Great! Slice the onions very thin or saute them a little bit first...otherwise they may be a little undercooked.

This recipe is great. It is so easy and delicious. I can whip it up about ten minutes and then bake it whenever. I guess my husband doesn't like the onions, though, so I need to remember to start leaving those out.

Oh, so yummy by far. It did cut out the onions though and just added onion powder. I also added in some fresh dill and garlic powder too. My husband is hovering over the leftovers now.

DELISH!! These spuds are a little more saucy than what I had been used to in au gratin potatoes (but maybe that's bc I had been using the boxed stuff all this time!) but they are wonderful. I did cook the potato slices in the microwave on high for about 5 minutes to cut down the cooking time in the oven....90 minutes is a long time, and I didn't catch that when I started cooking at 5PM! So very good. I will keep this as part of my regular potato rotation.

This was great! I used vidalia onions and sauteed them before adding them to the potatoes. I doubled the recipe and cooked for 2 hours. I took the foil off for the last 30 minutes. Turned out great!

These were great. I diced the onion instead of slicing into rings and I made 1-1/2 times the sauce. I think this would be a great sauce for macaroni too.

Awesome! I sliced the potatoes in a "scallop" style and used red potatoes. I also added more flour to the mixture (about a teaspoon more) and also added salt and pepper to the mix. Also adding salt and paper between the layers is important. Lastly, the last 10 minutes in the oven I took the foil off and sprinkled some plain bread crumbs on top to give it a nice crust on top. It was so yummy, my husband who usually doesn't like this style of potatoes raved about it all night.

This recipe was very good and I would make again. My milk mixture didn't seem to thicken very much. I was worried that it may be too soupy even after it baked, but it thickened up pretty decent after cooling a little. My boyfriend also loved it!

I made these potatoes tonight and they were awesome. The whole family loved them. I did change it up a bit. I added minced onions along with the sliced and cooked the potatoes in a little boiling water for about 7 minutes to shorten cooking time. Didn't want them too done to where they would fall apart. Then added some garlic powder to the cheese sauce and a little more salt and pepper. Also I put in half cheddar cheese and half american cheese. Also I realized I was out of flour when making these and just used 2 tablespoons cornstarch to the milk before adding it to the pan of cheese. Worked great!!!

Doesn't get any better than this! I did layer the cheese sauce in between each layer instead of just on top. Super cheesy and wonderful. Did take a long time to bake, but was well worth the wait!
