Creamed Spinach Casserole
SUBMITTED BY:
Jane Everett
"THIS RECIPE comes from an old cookbook I received as a wedding gift in 1945. As they grew up, my children loved all vegetables, but they often requested spinach served this way. Through the years, it has remained a family favorite. --Jane Everett Pinehurst, North Carolina"

Melt the remaining butter; add crumbs. Sprinkle over spinach mixture. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees F for 20-25 minutes or until almost set.

This was very good and easy to make. I microwaved the spinach, which omitted the need to drain, and dirty a pan. I made it for two helpings, which only requires one box of spinach, and cooked it in one small casserole dish. As a side dish, it was more like 4 servings.

Delicious! I made this as a side dish to serve 8 for Thanksgiving dinner. Even my picky children (ages 7,4, and 2) liked it. Because I made it in a larger quantity, I baked it in a 9x13" pyrex dish and had to cook it about 10 minutes longer. It was very buttery, and I think I will reduce the butter by at half next time. Thanks for the quick and easy recipe.

This dish tasted much better 15 minutes after taken out of oven, the flavor just seemed better when not piping hot.I used less butter, added parm cheese cheese to bread crumb topping. I'm not sure I would call it a creamed dish, but it was good.

Really yummy! Like another reviewer, I microwaved the spinach. I also added garlic powder and may actually use fresh garlic next time--it added a nice flavor. Also, mine came out a bit too buttery around the edges, so I may just spray the breadcrumbs with butter spray next time. But this was super easy and really tasty!
