You can use canned peas for this, too. Just drain and reserve the liquid. I found that I needed to add some back in to thin the cream sauce a bit. A sprinkle of onion powder boosts the flavor.

Except for the sugar, I followed the recipe exactly. I didn't like the idea of sugar, so I cut that out completely. It is too peppery the way it is written, I think 1/2 of what it calls for would be plenty! Otherwise, it was really tasty. I will make it again without so much pepper. Yum!

My mom always made creamed peas on toast when we were children and it is one of my "comfort foods". Don't bother to cook the frozen peas ahead of time, add them frozen to the sauce and lightly simmer until they are plumped up and heated throughout. I often used frozen mixed vegetables in place of the frozen peas.

Yum! Added a little seasoned salt. Next time will add onions but, my non-onion eating son was here. These were delish.

This made a much heavier sauce than I cared for, so next time I will increase the milk, and decrease the flour. I also thought they tastedwere rather bland, so I might also add seasoned salt next time. Overall this is a really good and quick way to make something besides just boring old peas. My toddler loved this! Thanks for sharing.

Very good! I doubled the salt and pepper. I also just put the peas in thawed instead of cooking them . Easy and delicious.

My husband grew up having creamed peas and I had never heard of it! This recipe was easy to follow, was sweet enough to be popular with the kids too. Next time we might add a little more pepper or some other spice, but we will make again!

I've made this a couple of times to serve with salmon patties. The sugar makes the pea sauce just sweet enough.
