Mmm. I grew up on this stuff made with fresh peas right out of the garden! This was good. I used all the milk called for, and 4 small russets. I felt it was missing something even though I added some lemon juice as suggested by another reviewer. It had plenty of pepper flavor from the white pepper so it wasn't that. We thought it needed more salt so we salted ours right on our plates, but that could have been because I used unsalted butter. There is still something, though, that I can't quite figure out that is missing.

The sauce was a bit runny to me (I like a thicker sauce), so I won't add as much milk next time. Good, basic recipe.

I have been looking for a recipe like this ever since my mother-in-law passed away. She use to always make this and it was my favorite vegetable. i think she used to buy frozen peas and potatoes and doctor it up. Can't find the peas and potaotoes together any more, so I was excited when I found this. Only chnage I made was that I used three potaotes instead of four.

These were pretty good. Our bible study tried it out the first time we made them and we only had a small bowl left after almost everyone came back for seconds. It was hard to find fresh dill. We used the dried dill as well and added some fresh parsley. Will make it again for my in-laws this week.

I enjoyed this recipe a lot. I used canned peas instead of frozen and dried dill (about 1/2 teaspoon) instead of fresh. When it was done, it just tasted like it needed a little something extra. I added some black pepper and a squirt of lemon juice on top, which added to the flavor of the dish. I will make this again. It's an easy weeknight side (or main dish for me since I'm a vegetarian) from stuff I usually have on hand.
