Original Recipe Yield 6 servings

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons butter or margarine, divided
  • 1/2 cup crushed cornflakes
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon instant minced onion
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 4 cups French-style green beans, cooked and drained
  • 1 cup shredded sharp Cheddar or Swiss cheese

  1. In a small saucepan, melt 1 tablespoon butter; stir in cornflakes and set aside. Melt remaining butter in a large saucepan. Fold in the beans. Spread into a greased 1-1/2-qt. baking dish. Sprinkle cheese evenly over the top. Sprinkle with cornflake mixture. Bake, uncovered, at 400 degrees F for 20 minutes or until heated through.
