I love cucumbers and I followed the recipe to a T, except for the handling of the cucumbers: I cut them in half lengthwise and seeded them, then mixed them with salt, let them sit, spun the moisture out with a salad spinner, then rinsed them, spun them again and patted them dry. The flavor was great, but the dressing was way too runny - definitely wasn't creamy, as I expected from the recipe title. And i know it wasn't the moisture from the cukes that made it runny! :) I think i'll try this again, but add cream cheese to the dressing to give it some real creaminess.

I rated this a 3 star recipe because the ratio of dressing to the cucumbers is way off. There is just too much sauce. It's almost a soup. I even cut the sauce in half based on other reviews and it was still too much. Also, it was a tad too sweet for my taste. Next time I’ll cut back more on the liquid and on the sugar. I took another reviewers suggestion of putting the cucumbers in a salt brine overnight to draw out some moisture. They absorbed some of the salt from the brine so I didn’t add the salt that the recipe called for. I made a few other changes as well. I used milk instead of condensed milk and garlic pepper salt rather than the pepper and garlic salt listed in the recipe. Like another reviewer, we don’t like onions so I used dried chopped onion instead of the green onions and onion salt. My hubby’s a picky eater and he liked it so I’ll make again but with less sugar and less sauce.

This was the most excellent recipe....brought to a neighbors picnic and got RAVE reviews! My hubby loved it too! The only change I made was, I used regular milk instead of evaporated, that worked just fine, as I didn't have any evaporated on hand. My best suggestion would be to let the cucumbers sit for about an hour, and dry well then drain the water off, the dressing becomes watery if you don't but still tastes great! I also added finely chopped green pepper and half miracle whip like another user suggested, and I also used red wine vinegar, so it gave it a more mild vinegar taste.

Awesome cucumber salad recipe! I used English Cucumbers (they were on sale today), and substituted pepper flakes for the pepper sauce (1 tsp.) I also substituted whipping cream in place of the evaporated milk, and was a bit worried if the vinegar would curdle it, but it's made a lovely, smooth dressing. Everyone seems to love it, and it's super simple.

This was delicious! The whole family loved it including the kids. I used lemon juice instead of vinegar and fresh parsley instead of dried; otherwise, I followed the recipe as written. It was so good and is my new favorite cucumber salad recipe!

A huge hit at my BBQ. I've got cucumbers coming out of my ears right now because of our garden, and now I know how I will eat them all! Two of my pregnant guests wouldn't back away from it!

I had extra cucmbers from the garden and wanted to try something different. I followed this recipe, except used 2% milk because I didn't want to open a can of evaporated milk for such a small amount, and it was wonderful. Will definitely make again.

A good recipe for summer. However, I found this recipe to be far too sweet for my taste. I'll make it again, but I'll cut way down on the sugar next time, starting with just a tablespoon or so and adding it slowly to taste. The hot pepper sauce does add a nice twist to the flavor. It's not spicy, but gives it another dimension.
