Absolutely easy and tasted wonderful - I used 1 can of peas (since that's all I had) and just used the water in the can. I added some frozen pearl onions while they were boiling. Omitted the sugar and added a bit more salt. Used 2% (again, all I had) and it thickened up nicely. Thank you for a great recipe that I can play around with - since I can't leave well enough alone. :)

I've made these twice, once with frozen green peas and once with fresh actual cream peas from the farmer's market (similar to black eyed peas but creamy yellow in color). The first time with the green peas I found the cream sauce to be too sweet. The second time I cut the sugar to 1 teaspoon and added a pinch of salt and garlic powder. That tasted much better to us! I took the advice of another reviewer and added a few small pearl onions to the water while boiling (thanks Carisa!). Overall this is a great recipe and one we will definitely be using again! Thank you!

I thought these were awesome! Even my husband who hates peas tried them and thought they were alright. The only change I made to the recipe was that I used skim milk instead of heavy cream. They still turned out great and I saved a few calories!

I made this for Easter dinner, since my husband was raised on creamed peas and carrots. I just added carrots and everyone, including his mother, was asking me for the recipe. I actually was able to make this before everyone got there then reheat it before serving.

I'm sorry but I really didn't like these. The taste and texture were way off and on top of that they looked really nasty.

Excellent. I used white pearl onions and boiled them until done and then used the onion water for my peas. I used 1/2 the sugar since I was making the onion version. The amt of liquid, cream and flour was perfect. Thanks for a wonderful addition to our Easter meal!

Absolutely fabulous! My family loved this recipe! We eat peas often because some god convinced our 2 year old that peas are candy but we've become bored with the same plain peas. I did have to make a few minor alterations. First, there was not enough liquid! I cooked my peas then added the butter and flour for about a minute. Then I added in the half and half (sub for cream) and it was gone in a second. I had to scramble to add more. All in all I think I added about 1 1/4 cup of half and half. I kept everything else the same. The amount of sauce is perfect so I wouldn't reduce the flour, just up the liquid. They are so tasty as is but I'm thinking of adding onion next time, it can't hurt! FYI- My husband says they are the same as the cream corn we get at our fave bbq restaurant. I agree and using corn is a great sub!

This was delish!! I used evaporated milk because I had no 1/2 & 1/2 or heavy cream and it was still excellent. I imagine if I had used the cream it would have been spectacular. About as good a recipe for peas as you will ever find. Nice complement to any meal practically.

EXCELLENT! Easy to put together and the taste was wonderful. As another suggested, I used 1/2 & 1/2 and it was thick and creamy.

I'm not a big "pea" person. I tried this recipe to help me "like" peas better. It was pretty good, but didn't make me crave peas.

Not a personal favorite for me, but my kids LOVE them, and beg for them whenever I ask which vegetable they want! I have used canned peas as I usually have them on hand, so maybe that affects the flavor. Very easy, and quick, great side dish for a busy evening! THANKS!
