I agree - use only 1 package of cream cheese and it is better

I halved this recipe, which was more than enough to ice two loaves of pumpkin bread. This was so easy and amazingly delicious!

I doubled the vanilla and kept the same proportions otherwise - SO GOOD. I thought I'd be like the other commenters who thought it was too cream cheesy but I loved it the way it was, on top of pumpkin muffins! Mine didnt stand in peaks like in the picture but was creamier.

I made it as one of the previous poster's suggested, adding only 1 pack of the cream cheese and it turned out great!! Spread it over Strawberry cake and it was delicious.

Delicious! I, like other reviewers, only used 1 pkg of cream cheese, and slightly more sugar. Quick, easy and yummy- will make again.

I made 1/2 recipe of this, which was more than enough to frost a non-layer cake. I paired this with Rose Levy Beranbaum's Pumpkin Walnut Cake - absolutely awesome!!! Starting with the ingredients at room temperature (or close to it) made the mixing easy and fast. I love that it's not too sweet. Highly recommended!!!

The taste was decent, but it definitely wasn't cake-worthy, as the consistency was much too thin. It would probably work great on cinnamon rolls or something similar.

One block of cream cheese and a half stick of butter is the way to go. So good with Pumpkin Cake III!

Needed a cream cheese frosting for pumpkin bread in a pinch, found this recipe, made it as written without reading any reviews and was floored. It is absolutely perfect!

This frosting is unbelievably smooth! The taste is great and the texture is very velvety. I did add a little milk to loosen it up at first. I made some banana cupcakes and this was the perfect frosting for them.

Great recipe. I reduced the fat by using 1-8 oz lite cream cheese; 1/4 c light margarine and 1-1/2 tsp of vanilla. What a great option when you need a cream cheese frosting with less fat.
