Original Recipe Yield 3 dozen
 

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. Cream together butter and sugar. Add flour and nuts. Pat into a 9 x 9 pan. (Reserve some for top.) Bake for 12 minutes.
  3. Cream together cream cheese, sugar and add remaining ingredients Pour on top of crust. Sprinkle reserved crumbs over top. Bake for 20 minutes. Let cool.
