Cranberry Pears
SUBMITTED BY:
Leila Ryan
"I HAD an abundant pear crop last summer, so I was on the lookout for pear recipes. I ended up devising one of my own by substituting pears for apples in a chunky applesauce recipe. I usually serve it at lunch instead of a rich dessert and also find it makes a refreshing side dish. -Leila Ryan, McDonough, Georgia"

This is wonderful! I used rock hard country pears, cooked for 20 minutes in the syrup, added the cranberries and water bathed for 10 minutes. Yield over one pint. Hubby loved the leftover desert. I plan to put up more this coming weekend!

This was fabulous! I halved the pears instead of quartering them and served it warm to my guests with a dollop of vanilla yogurt. They loved it. Thanks.
