This is a great base recipe, but because of the changes I made I gave it three stars. Since I used 2lbs of meat, I added another egg and 1/2 cup of bread crumbs to the meat mixture. I also put 1 cup of dried cranberries in plus salt, pepper, garlic powder, parsley and basil. I then browned the meat balls before putting them in the crockpot. This also prevented them from sticking together. For the sauce: I omitted the chili sauce and instead put 1 can of cranberry sauce and 1 can of tomato sauce in. Plus the ketchup and brown sugar and lemon juice. I also added 3 sliced garlic gloves and another 3 tbs of minced garlic to the onions. This helped combat the sweetness that other reviewers talked about. In the end it was delicious!

This recipe is a good base for meatloaf. I've used the recipe both ways (you just add some bread crumbs to the mixture) form a loaf and bake as you would regular meatloaf

Honestly, I thought this was too sweet. the next day it seemed to be better, but just not my taste. The sauce though may be better for chicken or turkey.

I can't give this recipe 5 stars cause I cheated and used premade meatball from the freezer section. The sauce is really good. Great for bringing to a party. I love my crockpot for this type of recipe, it's the kind that the lid locks for travel.

I gave these three stars because the actual meatballs were good, but the sauce was WAY TOO SWEET. i only used 1/4 cup of the chili sauce, added a 5oz. bottle of Franks Red Hot sauce, some spicy bbq sauce, lemon juice and no brown sugar. Also, i had to bake them at 350 for 5-10 minutes because they were a little too soft. next time i might sear them before putting them in the slow cooker. Thanks though!
