The filling is great, wonderful color for the season. The tartness perfectly offsets the sweet sugar cookie. Therein lies the problem. The dough is simply a sugar or filled cookie dough with cornmeal in it. I have lots of recipes for those. Five stars for the filling, 2 for the dough.
PS I put a teaspoon or filling on the cookie before baking, moistened the edge with egg wash, topped with the cutout, pressed down the edges with a fork, egg washed the top and baked at 375F for 10 min total. I live at 5000ft.
