Very good pie. I would cut back on the sugar in the pie, unless the apples are very tart. I used 3/4 cup the second time I made it...actually get the flavor of the apples better. Also, baking time was longer than necessary...check the tenderness of the apples after 45 minutes.

This was so delicious and a great way to use all those left over cranberries at Thanksgiving. The almond crumb crust creates the perfect kick to go with the apples and cranberries. The result was a tangy mixture--both sweet and tart at the same time depending on which part of the bite you were focusing on. All my guests loved it and asked for the recipe.

Outstanding, I don't even like apple pie and this is amazing. I also used the filling to make a rustic pie (just folding the crust around it) it was great and easy. Made it for Thanksgiving and the family loved it.

Loved it! The cranberries really add extra flavor and the almonds add much needed texture. It lasted a total of 10 minutes at the office.

I really enjoyed this recipe. Great flavor (I love cranberries) and texture (the Almonds were a nice touch). This would be a great holiday dessert.

I've always found apple pie a bit bland, so the cranberries and almonds do a lot to add substance to the flavor of the fruit. It's not the best pie I've ever had, but it's certainly a step above plain apple and has more of a seasonal "look" to it.
