This is the best cocktail sauce EVER! I have bought many different brands and none of them were ever good. I used a 32oz. bottle of ketchup, I used more horseradish and hot sauce than the recipe called for to give it more of a kick, I also used lemon juice not from concentrate so I halved the amount. It does make a lot of sauce, but I just put it back in the bottle to have on hand for next time!

It is better than store bought! But I like mine hotter. I buy homemade horseradish in my Town--and it's VERY hot. I found I still had to add a couple extra tablespoons. I made haddock fish frys and put the sauce on them...delicious!

Excellent cocktail sauce - I would have never thought to put A1 in this, but surprisingly it was very good.

WOW, this guy can make some excellent cocktail sauce! I'm not normally fond of cocktail sauce, but I was intrigued by this recipe and am so glad I tried it. Make it exactly as written, and you won't be sorry. Thanks!

I halved the recipe because it makes a LOT--WAY too much for the 2 LBs of shrimp we had. I used 3 drops of Dave's Insanity hot sauce and some extra horseradish. I added the A1 at the end because I was hesitant of the flavor outcome. DH thought it needed less, but I thought it added the perfect flavor combo. USE THIS COCKTAIL SAUCE!!!

This one saved me in a pinch when guests were practically on the doorstep! I quartered the recipe and it worked great. I added a bit more hot pepper sauce than called for, but that is probably individual taste. A keeper!

This was really great, but I did change one thing based on another recipe that I read. I did half Chili sauce and half ketchup and it is SOOO good! It adds a little bit of sweetness and is just perfect! I too increased the horseradish and tabasco.

We all loved this. I didn't have raw horseradish, so I used extra hot creamy horseradish. It turned out great!

Very Good! I only made 1/3 the amount, added a big pinch of brown sugar, real lemon juice and some chopped chives.

I've never made cocktail sauce before so I have nothing to compare it to. But my husband like it very much, w a bit more horseradish, and a touch of brown sugar.

Wow! This was so great. I made it to go with boiled shrimp, and my guests stood around eating in plain on crackers! Only change I made was to add two chipotle peppers (soaked in water to soften, stem/seeds removed and finely chopped.) This recipe rocks!! Thanks, Craig!!

Pretty good - i made 1/9th of the recipe (4 oz of ketchup, which is what i had) - over-measuring generously on horseradish, hot sauce, etc - very good, but not as tasty as our favorite (Crosse & Blackwell Zesty Shrimp Sauce) - i think it's probably a matter of onion, so will try adding onion powder next time.

Awesome! It wasn't until 20 minutes before dinner, I grabbed the bottle of cocktail sauce out of the fridge and saw there was only a couple of tablespoons in the bottle. I jumped online, saw this recipe, saw that I had all of the ingredients (although my bottled lemon juice was expired!). I mixed it all up anyway. Wasn't sure what constitutes Hot Pepper Sauce, so I used Crystal Hot Sauce. It was so good, I didn't want to mix it with the store bought stuff. I recalculated the recipe for 2 servings which made about 1/2 of a standard bottle.
