I love these cookies!!! I had to bake mine about two minutes longer and they turned out perfectly. I frosted them using the Sugar Cookie Frosting recipe from this website. Yum, yum, yum!

OMG!~These are super delish! Just finished them and I couldn't wait til they cooled off to eat one. Very soft and chewy. I don't use butter much. I used Fleishmans Olive oil spread. I never have a problem baking cookies with it. Edit time...I forgot to add that I didn't have cream of tartar so I used a tsp. of lemon juice...fabulous cookie! 2nd edit...As if this cookie couldn't get any better...I managed to do so. I chopped up a handful of M & M's and put them in half of the dough. OMG!! Fantastic and even more moist than before.

I used this recipe versus the "Chewy Sugar Cookies" recipe in a sugar cookie challenge. The consensus was that "Chewy Sugar Cookie" won. However, this still tasted really good. This was a more stout thick cookie. It's also not that sweet... if I make these again, I'd just up the sugar another 1/4 cup.

By far these are the best sugar cookies I've ever had! I had to give some to the neighbors so I would stop eating them. I rolled them in sugar before baking and flattened slightly. Oh so good!

I followed this recipe to a T and the cookies came out masterfully! I love the texture and the taste. I didn't have the stiffness probably at all nor did I sift my dry ingredients together. For variety I rolled some in cinnamon sugar and the colored sugar beads. Thanks so much not just for me but also for my mother who lives in a nursing home because she is stricken with Alzheimer's and also for my young friend battling stage 4 lymphoma cancer because I am sending them both care packages with these homemade cookies inside.

These cookies were YUMMY!! I was a little hesitant to make cookies since I very rarely make them, but these cookies were easy to make and tasted awesome. Family was eating them almost as fast as I was making them! The only problem I had was that I left them in the oven a little longer than the recipe called for since they were lookin' a little pale, so they turned out a little harder than I would've prefered. Still delicious, though. Thanks for a great recipe!! :)

Very nice and tasty cookies, I did not have any cream of tartar so I did as the other suggested and add baking powder. I also added a touch of cardemon to the cookies . Yummy :-)

Good basic cookie. I didn't have vanilla extract on hand, so I threw in a bit of clover honey for flavor (now I wish I had added more it was good!). I only used 2 C of flour, because mine would have been dried out with all of it.

AWESOME! As some other users said, the dough was dry and crumbly, but all worked well. This is a great recipe. PS I added nutmeg, allspice, cloves and cinnamon bcz I'm a spice freak. It was good!

I've made these cookies twice so far and I love them! I used cookie cutters and decorated some for halloween. I thought I made too many but everyone loved them so much and the leftovers lasted for over a week and they were still delicious! I just made one big cookie for the crust of my fruit pizza and it turned out great too! I just doubled the batch, spread it on a cookie sheet and cooked for 15-16min, just until slightly browned on top. Perfect!!

very good. followed the recipe exactly, although I didn't roll the dough balls, just dropped them onto the sheet. at 350 in my oven, the cookies needed to bake for almost 15 minutes and the recipe yielded about 3 dozen cookies. these are nice change of pace from my cake-ier rolled sugar cookie recipe, which is a classic in my family. I think the recipe would also be great with almond or lemon extract. I made a powdered sugar glaze with milk and a little bit of butter and dipped the tops in it. thanks for sharing!

Awesome!! I didn't have cream of tartar so I used 1tsp baking powder and 3/4tsp of baking soda as another reviewer suggested. I just balled up the dough in my tbsp and it made exactly 3doz of the best sugar cookies I've ever made. Will definitely make it over and over. Thank you!!!
