Haven't made cookies in 10 years. These were easy and tasted great! I rolled them in sugar before baking as others suggested. Thank You !

I substituted the 1 tsp cream of tarter for 1 tsp vinegar. I needed to bake mine a little longer than the time stated. Tasted yummy. Will make again.

Those were very good. Like pillsbury cookies but better. My whole family loved them. My 2 year old knew I was making them and kept saying cookie cookie. Very good recipe

I liked these cookies a lot. My kids didn't care for them. My son said they were not that sweet. They were very easy to make. I softened the butter a little and I didn't have any problem with them being crumbly as others stated. Mine were actually chewy. This is one of the better sugar recipes that I have tried.

Great cookies...even if you misread the recipe and use egg whites instead of yolks..Ha.Ha. I did add some additional flour to make them easier to roll/drop since the yolks made the dough a bit sticky. They were still eaten up without any problem. I did make a batch the correct way after figuring out my mistake. They were wonderful.

What a FANTASTIC, easy-to-make, simply wonderful cookie recipe!!! I wish I could give it more than 5 stars! I changed nothing with the recipe/directions and never will (unless rolling them out for cutters). This will be the only sugar cookie recipe I use from here on out. THANKS PAM!!!! (now if I can only keep enough around so my husband can try them when he gets home...)

This cookies were simple and delicious. My kids said they are the best sugar cookies they have ever had. I thought they tasted great. They do crumble real easily and that is why I rated a 4. I put a slice of bread in container to keep them moist. Will definitely make again.

These were amazing!!!! A few hours after the cookies came out of the oven, my family finished them off! The cookies didn't actually crack (with the first tray I waited for them to and they came out burnt) but they were yummy all the same!!! I got many compliments and pats on the back =)

First off - these cookies are awesome! Crispy outside, chewy inside! BUT...I would recommend softening the butter. I also used salted butter because the recipe didn't have salt in it. I am not sure what Cream of Tartar actually is, or if has salt in it but either way the cookies turned out great!

These taste very good! My only problem is that the day after they were quite hard. I'm still eating them, they taste good. I just wish they were as "chewy" as others say they are. Perhaps I did something wrong? I'd like to know, so that I can make them again. :)

these were delicious. My dough was very crunmbly when done, but I could press it into balls, so that's what I did. My cookies took 15 minutes in the oven to even begin to brown, so maybe I made mine bigger, but I thought I knew what size a walnut was. Oh well, the end result was delicious. Thanks!

Sugar cookies are my favorite. This recipe is awesome. My only complaint (haha) is that the dough is so good, I kept nibbling at it, resulting in less cookies. Took 13 mins in my oven. No need for icing!

Did it all as written, though like another reviewer, when I was mixing it I just dug in with my hands and kneaded it like bread dough. I dipped the tops of the balls into a Halloween sprinkle mix and they turned out kind of cute. Took them to a rehearsal with me and they were highly praised and gone in minutes.

These cookies deserve 10****stars! They are that good. I have made plenty of sugar cookies and these are by far my new favorite. I did dip my balls in colored sugar for better presentation and let me tell you..I ate 10 in a row! I cannot wait to dip some in cinnamon/sugar for a snickerdoodle. Great drop cookie. Will use over and over and over again. Oh I did only use 1 cup sugar since I was dipping in sugar. Didn't want them too sweet.

Great cookie! We were looking for a moist and chewy sugar cookie recipe and found it here! Easy to make, my 17 year old son baked some on a cold fall day and they turned out so well, that now he wants his own Food Network show! Thank you Pam!!

I only gave this recipe 4/5 stars because the cookies were a bit plain. To spice them up a bit, I rolled them in cinnamon sugar like snikerdoodles before baking them. They tasted delicious after that. Also, right after I removed the cookies from the oven I pressed chocolate chips and candy corn in them. The candycorn was very fun and great for Halloween. The recipe said do not flatten the cookies at all before you bake them, leave them in balls but I found that they turned out better if I flattened them just a tiny bit before I put them in the oven. A good cookie, prefect for rolling in cinnamon sugar and making snikerdoodles. Worth making!
