I followed the previous advice of adding cinnamon and vanilla. I added 1/3 cup extra of oats, 1 cup of cocconut and 1 cup of rasins. I also used chocolate chips instead of butterscotch. It is a little sticky but I sprayed my hands with pam and no problem. This is a traditional Cowboy cookie to me. Excellent recipe!

To say that this is a good cookie is like saying a Rolls Royce is a nice car. While the statement is true enough, it really doesn't do it justice. These cookies knocked my socks off and every other oatmeal cookie I've ever had is tasteless crud in comparison. P.S. Thanks to other reviewers who came before me, I added a healthy splash of vanilla and an extra cup of oatmeal. I'm glad I did.

Awesome. I used butter with a little bit of margarine for it and the rest was the same. This is quite possibly one of the best cookie recipes ever!!! Easy to make, crunchy by soft and perfect. Not too sweet either. Do make it! It will make lots of people smile!

I've made these a couple times now and they come out perfect everytime! So soft and chewy :) I usually add 2 tablespoons of coco powder and white choc chips :)

I have tried 4 other recipes for oatmeal butterscotch cookies this is the only one that worked. I did refridgerate the dough first and then rolled it into balls before baking. They came out like cookies not like homemade paper!

This recipe is good but not the best. I guess it is really a personal choice of how you like your cookies. If you like thin and crispy cookies then they would be good for you. But I personally think if they were more fluffy on the in side and crispy on the outside they would be absolutely awesome.

Fantastic! Soft and yet crisp texture to the cookie with the butterscotch is soo yummy! I followed the recipe exactly. I would recommend chilling the dougfh just a little and then rolling them into soft balls before baking to help them from breaking later. Oops one broke, I better eat that one ;) You will enjoy this recipe!

Oh my Lord.. these are, hands down, the BEST oatmeal cookies I have ever put in my mouth! I did a couple very small changes but nothing that would make or break this cookie recipe. I thought the dough looked a little too.. what's the word.. soft? mushy? I thought it needed just a little more oats and flour. Also I didn't have butterscotch or chocolate chips so I left that out. Maybe they wouldn't need more flour/oats if they had raisins or chips in them. Regardless.. these cookies are fantastic!! Nice and crisp on the outside and still soft and chewy in the center (not too chewy like they're raw.. just nice n soft). This will definitely be the recipe I use every time i make oatmeal cookies. I wish I could give more than 5 stars.

Oatmeal cookies are my favorite and this recipe is great. Made a few little changes. Added teaspoon vanilla. Used butter instead of margarine and old fashioned oats instead of quick oats. I think oatmeal cookies and raisins are naturals, so made that switch. Perhaps because of my oven or making the cookies a little larger they needed 13-14 minutes. Came out great.

I am not sure what I did wrong. The cookies turned out flat and on the mushy side. Very sweet too. Will have to try them again because of all the great reviews. I did not care for my batch at all. I ended up throwing some of them away.
