I modified this recipe to be healthy and it ended up tasting great. unfortunately the exact modifications have been lost due to other people's computer issues, but this is what I remember:
- 3/4 cup whole wheat pastry flour
- 3/4 cup oat bran
- 1/2 cup wheat germ
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp ea baking powder and soda
- 1/4 c butter
- 1/2 c non-fat yogurt
- 1 c white sugar
- 1 c packed brown sugar
- 4 egg whites
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups rolled oats
- 1 c mini chocolate chips
- apple juice as needed for moisture/flavor
(i think i replaced osme of the sugar with apple juice as well, but i can't rememeber now)
