A perfectly respectable white bread. Easy to make, easy to bake. I prefer challah or ciabatta for their personalities, but for a standard-issue white bread, this will do.

Love this recipe. The bread is quite dense, but it's a great basis to add things to...today I added cheese and jalapeños, and it tasted amazing (Although I did have to add more flour to compensate for the wetness of the pickled jalapeños). I used my send mixer for the whole thing - using the bread hook, it did all of the hard work.

We love this bread. My health conscious daughter hates the thoughts of all the preservatives in shelve bread. Since we use it mostly for sandwiches we needed something that wasn't so crumbly. I looked for one that used egg for this reason. This recipe makes 2 loaves (one regular, one smaller) and a batch of cinnamon rolls. I slice the bread after it cools, put it into a gallon size baggie and freeze it. Because it is 'heartier' than store bought bread, and not as 'crumbly' as most homemade breads, it pops apart easily when frozen.

This is the best bread recipe I have found so far. My husband is in love with it. He says it has just the right amount of sweetness and it it's soft. I made cinnamon rolls with half the dough, cream cheese frosting. Very satisfied with this recipe.

My family complained that this bread was too good for sandwiches! They loved it! I'd prefer it a little less sweet, next time I'll try 1/3 cup of sugar. Although, I made 3 loaves out of the recipe and turned a loaf into cinnamon swirl bread (this was the perfect sweetness).

OMG this is the BEST homemade white bread i have ever made. Will make this again and again. My husband loves homemade bread. The first time i made 2 small loaves of bread plus about 6 rolls. This time i am making only 2 loaves of bread. I did not make any changes to this recipes.

Nice white bread. Not too sweet and dense enough that I could cut it thin for sandwich bread.

The bread was delicious, but the recipe does NOT take 40 minutes. The time failed to include the 2 hours of rising.

This is delicious. I love that it uses all-purpose flour. Very easy to make and I couldn't wait to cut into it. Thank you for sharing this.
