Unfortunately, I was not too impressed with the taste of this recipe. The texture was only so-so also.

I made this today and it is WONDERFUL! Everything homemade bread should be. Dense, but not heavy and wonderful flavor. I only mad half the recipe because I only had one package of yeast and I didn't have loaf pans so I made it into round loaf and it turned out beautifully. Golden brown and rustic looking!

This is really easy bread to make. It was my first time making bread, and it came out perfect! My family loved it too. This will be a staple in my recipe book.

We loved this recipe! It was easy and delicious. substituted 2 cups of wheat flour and added 1/2 cup blended oats. Great soft texture.

Perfect. I found it incredibly difficult to find a recipe for REAL homemade bread on this site(no machine). This was the first time I have ever made bread, and I am super thrilled!! Very moist with just the right amount of sweet, I will definately make this again!!

If you want a slightly sweeter, cakier bread that's good for sandwiches, this is it! The egg is what makes the taste in this recipe. It's not the bread I'd make every week, but it's a nice alternative to other recipes.

This recipe was delicious! Instead of making 2 loaves of bread, I seperated the dough into 12 rolls and baked

LOVE this white bread recipe!! I was so happy to find a white bread recipe that didn't list milk as one of the ingredients; now I can make this for my dairy-allergic grandson who loves homemade bread. This recipe not only makes great tasting bread, but the dough is the easiest I have ever worked with. LOVED IT...thanks for this great recipe!

This was pretty good. Awesome crust. I thought it was the best one on the site, until I tried "Simply White Bread II" on this site. I would recommend that one instead. This one is good, but "simply white bread II" is much softer and much better, and way easier.

My bread turned out pretty dry and kind of flavorless. I think I will try one of the recipies with butter and milk next time. I appreciate that this is one of the few recipies where the instructions aren't "place all ingredients into your bread machine..." though!

This recipe makes delicious bread! I didn't think it was too sweet at all. It's the first recipe I made in my brand new KitchenAid mixer. For some reason I only needed 4 1/2 cups flour. I divided the dough into 3 medium loaves and made one loaf into cinnamon swirl bread like one of the other reviewers did (just roll it out and sprinkle with cinnamon and brown sugar, then roll it up and put it in a pan). I let the bread rise both times in the oven after preheating it to 400 degrees for a minute and turning it off. This method was a little TOO efficient though because 40 minutes into the second rise, my loaves started to fall a little bit! It affected the texture somewhat, but the bread is still good. I just wanted to mention to people who want to make this recipe that they should keep an eye on the dough if they let it rise in a warm oven.

This recipe is wonderful! The bread was so easy to make. It went together in under 10 minutes in my mixer. I am very impressed with the results and will use this recipe again and again. I am happy to have a good sandwich bread for my daughter that will last a couple weeks.
