Works great! The steaks were nice and crispy with a great texture. The breading stayed on the meat which is one problem I have had in the past.

Ok, to the people who said these were bland, I don't know where they got that because these have plenty of flavor atleast for us. I made the country fried steak just as it stated and on the gravy I only made half of it, as it is just my husband and me. But for us even after I halfed it there was still plenty left over. I didn't have buttermilk for the gravy so I used 1% and it turned out just fine. I just had to add just alittle more flour than called for. My husband said not to even make the gravy because he's not to big on gravy period but he ate it on this. I will be making this again. Thanks for the wonderful recipe.

I've been making this for years, and it's good, but I do use a little more seasoning in the flour- onion powder, garlic powder, and paprika, because it makes a prettier, darker steak.

I made this for my family tonight, and the only change I made was I fried them in canola oil, since I refuse to cook with lard. It didn't really do anything for me, the flavor was lacking, and the gravy was bland, but my husband liked it, so that was good, atleast.

My first time making a fried steak like this and I was worried, but it came out excellent. Breading stayed on and fried up nicely. I did add additional seasoning to the flour mixture though such as garlic powder, onion flakes and a pinch of red pepper. Gravy even came out great! Good comfort food!

Good! We too used vegetable oil instead of lard. Could have used more gravy. Next time!

Really good... although I did have to spice up the gravy a little bit... I thought it was too bland, as I enjoy really flavorful meals. But a little bit of mushrooms, garlic salt and Mrs. Dash and it was wonderful. Will be using this again. Thanks :)

My only suggestion for this recipe would be to grate some fresh garlic and rub it all over the meat and let it sit for about 30 minutes before cooking. This is how I have cooked it for a while and the garlic gives it so much extra flavor. When you first cut the meat after cooking you can smell the garlic and its wonderful! This is one of my favorite comfort foods.

I was REALLY nervous about these being too tough but I followed the recipe exactly and they were perfect. The coating stayed nice and crunchy and the meat was fork tender. I did oversalt it but that's no one's fault but my own. Delicious!

Loved this! Made it with deer meat that was in freezer and just wonderful! I placed it in a slow cooker when it was done to keep it warm and the gravy stayed very smooth. Thanks for the share
