I opted to pour the batter, then sprinkle the topping on just one side of the pancake which worked well... I'm not sure it's necessary to do both sides and I'm pretty sure the topping would burn before they were ready to flip. A pleasant twist on traditional pancakes!

These are delicious! However, I have a tendency of setting my fire alarm off and the brown sugar and oats burned a little bit before the pancakes could cook all the way through.

I made these exactly as the recipe reads and they were outstanding. I did closely watch so that the topping didn't burn per the advice of other reviews! This recipe is going straight into my recipe box and I don't even like whole grain!!!

My whole family really enjoyed these pancakes (and I am always experimenting with 'healthy' pancake recipes). The only changes I made were to swap the proportions of whole wheat and white flours. I ended up with plenty of topping left that I will add to my next bowl of oatmeal. So far, this is the family's favorite pancake recipe. Thanks!

Outstanding! My daughter,15, said nothing until I asked. She said "oh! I was concentrating so much on how I liked them, I fogot to comment". Review on being careful to not burn is correct, however, I like well-done pancakes. The "topping" is a must and the blueberries give it an extra zing. These are my favorite pancakes so far.

These were ok - the batter was a bit runny. Does need syrup despite what other's have posted. Couldn't really taste the almonds in the topping so would go through extra work\expense to add them next time but would make them again.

One word: FABULOUS! I followed the directions and used lowfat buttermilk. They turned out wonderful. Everyone loved them especially the crunchy granola topping. These will become a breakfast regular at our house.

Absolutely awesome!!!! I followed the recipe exactly only omitting the almonds. Didn't even need syrup! This recipe will be replacing my old pancake recipe.

These were very tasty but they kept burning :( Not badly (none were ruined) but I had to be really on my toes and I was dancing a fine line between burnt sugar and raw pancake :/ Also I had to flip them too soon on 2 of them so they sort of fell apart, resulting in extremely ugly foul-shaped pancakes, which is sort of disappointing. I did add a little bit of wheat germ in place of some of the oatmeal in the pancake mixture (about 1 tbsp exchange) just to add a little bit more fiber. I don't know if I'll make this specific recipe again but I *did* enjoy the caramelized sugar & butter aspect, so I might play around with it. Thanks for the recipe!
