Tastiest white bread I've made so far. The ginger adds a fantastic, light after-taste that lingers. I added a little honey to the egg-white wash and got a nice sweet flavor that I love. I'm definitely making this one again.

I tried this out today, only made a half recipe. I couldn't really tell there was any ginger in it, just a very slight aftertaste, next time I think I will add a little more. We wanted a quick and easy supper tonight so we made ham sandwiches out of it, extremely good. I make bread all the time and I would rate this as one of the better ones, baked in a cloche, texture and moisture was perfect.

Excellent bread!!! Was easy to make. I halved the recipe, replaced half the white flour with wheat flour and it turned out great!!! A very nice loaf!

this bread was wonderful! just what i was looking for! i left out the ginger & sesame seeds simply because i did not have either, and i wanted to make a loaf of bread quickly to have with dinner-- i minimized the recipe to 12 servings also. which worked out just fine! thanks for sharing!

Gorgeous, tasty bread! I baked this bread this morning, and it turned out so good. One thing I did differently: I used nutmeg instead of ginger, since I don't really care for ginger. It gave it just a hint of that "something special" and it was just a great staple bread. Wonderful to toast lightly for sandwiches or as a morning treat with a little jam.

This is a very good bread recipe. It makes a soft bread that is still easy to be cut. The braiding technique gives the bread a very nice appearance, along with the shine from the egg wash. The added sesame seeds also give the bread extra flavor. The directions were easy to follow to. I mixed and kneaded it with the dough hook attachment on my Kitchen-Aid mixer. The only thing I did do was add about 10 minutes extra to the second rise. Thanks, for the bread it will be great with soup or breakfast.

This is now my favourite every day bread. I made one loaf dusted with flour and one with sesame seeds. Its so soft and fluffy and tastes awesome toasted with chili poured over it!

Great recipe! This was so very easy and great for french toast, grilled cheeses, and just sandwiches. If you are a novice to breadmaking by hand, I can't stress the importance of kneading as much flour into the dough as you can (8-10 minutes is a good rule of thumb) and allowing the bread to rise well.

This is a pretty decent white bread recipe. What I did to make the recipe easier was use my bread machine to prepare the dough. I put all of my ingredients (only difference was I used 4 cups of flour instead of 5) and set it to dough setting. When the batter was done, I braided it and set it to rise in two seperate loaf pans. I also found that 30 minutes was enough cooking time in my eletric oven. Otherwise it would have over cooked. It came out pretty good and made two loafs. Now I have one to share with a friend! I would recommend eating with fresh butter or homemade jam.
