This really didn't turn out for me. The hens were pretty flavorless even though I rubbed them with garlic powder and extra salt and pepper. Maybe I should have skinned them first? But I was afraid they would dry out if I did that. And my rice turned out mushy and unevenly cooked, sort of a risotto consistency but not in a good way. I did use 1 cup rice and 2 cups chicken broth, so I'm glad I didn't double the liquid. I'm glad others have like it but it wasn't for me.

This recipe is a keeper! Hens were juicy and delicious and the rice with onion and mushroom is a perfect side dish. We will be using this one again for sure. Thanks for sharing!

I didn't care for it at all! The rice was mushy and greasy and the hen was tastless!

This was the first time I ever cooked... and my husband said it was the best dinner he's EVER had... fantastic recipe! I used brown rice (added more chicken stock) and the rice came out perfectly (not mushy at all).

Recipe as is is OK...I made the dressing using poultry seasoning instead...stuffed the hens with the stuffing and rubbed hens with garlic powder and olive oil...cook 2 for 1 hr 45 min...and you will make it again and again

Absolutely Delicious! This was an amazing dinner, no doubt one of my favorites. My boyfriend loved it as well. We cooked the hens a little longer to make the skin a little more golden brown. But everything else was perfect!

Not really sure what to say about this. The chicken turned out ok - very moist, but I did add in some more spices per other reviews. I also baked it uncovered for almost an additional 45 minutes then what the recipe says. The rice did not turn out. The broth did not absorb.

This is not a good recipe. The cook time is not correct. It takes at least 30 minutes longer to finish game hens. Also, if you cook rice for 1.5 or 2 hours it is mush.

There is an error in the length of time you must bake them. If you bake 2 hens, the time stated is accurate. However, when you double the recipe, you, also, have to add more baking time.

The rice was a little mushy, but the overall hen and rice mixture was delicious.

The cornish hen came out very moist and flavorful. It was nice to have the rice and vegetables as a side dish. The house smelled nice as it was cooking.

I really wanted to like this recipe, but for my husband and myself, it was bland. No flavor. Zip. We ended up adding a ton of spices to liven it up.

I would use much less chicken broth, it did not cook down, but otherwise good.

This was fantastic. I didn't follow the proportions of vegetables, rice, and stock exactly, so the rice was a little mushy, but there was plenty of flavor! I had to cook my cornish hens an extra 20 minutes. They turned out juicy, not dry. I'll definitely make this again and probably for company.
